Healthy and fulfilling food for the part-time vegetarian. Being in the downtown area has been challenging to find the right... foods to eat on a stringent diet, but I found an ally in Dhaba Wala Indian Kitchen. I chose the Aloo Gobi Entree and requestedto have little or no salt, which was the perfect comfort food I needed after a stressful morning. This is literally the only restaurant I go to in Hartford. You can smell the flavors from 2 streets away and you get so hungry... just by walking down the street!! I love the butter chicken and the kadai chicken and I am looking to get samosas the next timebecause they look so good! Also, everyone working there is so kind and friendly. I have had the loveliest conversations and someinteresting deep conversations there. I love the whole Dhaba Wala experience. I had finally met the owner recently, who is sucha sweet person! The pictures might not look too good, but Indian food is not really about the looks, isn’t it? Probably one of the best places... to have some really well made Indian cousin. They even had different deserts and homemade drinks. Portions were prettysignificant and very flavorful. And if you ask, they can adjust the level of spiciness !???? Read more
Worse Indian restaurant I have ever been to. We ordered few dishes and all of them bad in taste, of pav-bhaji order, pav was as... hard as tannish ball, bhaji was pathetic. Ordered kathi roll, almost decided not to try ever so at least could maintain my goodkathi roll India memories. Read more
We loooove Dhaba Wala! Every time I start with vegetable pakora. Crispy, tasty, delicious with coriander chutney. The chicken... tikka masala is the best I’ve had, even including my trip to South India. The kheer is comfort food for dessert. The staff isalways kind. Highly recommend!!! Read more
