older Italian lady used no gloves to touch all the pastries i was choosing. she helped the customer before me just like that... too. she literally had her fingers in the cake and frosting !!!!! i saw the marzipan asked what it is but she couldn?t answerbecause she doesn?t speak english properly i asked about the other pastries too still had difficulty telling me what they wereand what?s inside them. but the worst is she gave me all the stale ugly looking ones from the back where i couldn?t see them!!!! also the marzipan that i saw in the front looked very nice like realistic fruit but the ones she gave me has no sheen andlooked dried up and it tasted horrid! she gave me the one from the back and put it in a used old white paper bag that wascrumbled up ??? i don?t understand why folks have such a big place but can?t run it the right way. stop giving out your stalestuff to keep the newer ones for the rest of the week !!!!! i traveled far more than an hour and i wish i would?ve just not tookthe stuff but i wanted to have something for a 12 am birthday surprise. we took one bite out of them and it?s going to trash ijust couldn?t let them eat around the sides she touched i?m just so upset and disgusted. Just heated up at home a stuffed bread and arancini from Mozzicato's and I don't have the words to describe how much I enjoyed... it. I'll be back next week to pick up dinner again. Read more
Their cakes aren?t what they used to be. This is our fourth birthday cake ordered and each one was extremely dry and difficult... to cut. Unfortunately this is our last cake from this establishment ended an over 25year relationship. Read more
We ordered the fruit cake as our wedding cake back in September. As part of our consultation, we were shown different designs... and allowed to mix and match elements across the different designs. We chose a cake with ribbon and flowers, and were asked tobring our materials to the bakery ahead of the wedding. We chose some fairly cheap fake flowers, and I can't believe howbeautiful the bakery was able to make them look! Not only was our cake gorgeous, but it was also fresh and delicious. I walked in to get a birthday fruitcake for a family member 08/13 and they had one left on the shelf. The frosting was good but... the fruit was stale and the cake was soggy and tasted bad. People drove an hour to celebrate with us but were disappointed. Wedid buy some pastries which was good and the staff were pleasant but the cake was awful. First time patronizing them based on acoworker referral but will not be buying cakes from them again. Thank goodness we had some pies for dessert, would've been atotal disaster! Read more
In the past I had a few orders with Mozzicato Bakery on 329 Franklin Ave Hartford and all cakes were delicious. However, on... June 15 2019 I ordered a birthday cake, 25 servings and vanilla flavor. I was so disappointed. I got even more upset when Ispoke with the store manager (Gina). 1- the bottom of the cake was soaked in syrup and fell apart. I am not able to cut intopieces nicely. 2-there is a big piece of baking paper left in between two layers. I guess they baked 2 cakes and stacked thembut forgot the take out the baking paper 3-there is one hair found in the cake Below is the answer from the store manager, hername is Gina (I think) 1- that is how we make the cake. 2-no explanation 3-it is not hair it is from the brush it ruined mykid's bd. I had no choice but threw the entire cake in the trash. kids don't eat cake that fell apart and wet. I called thestore 2 days later June 17. Gina asked me why I didn't bring the cake back. I told her I threw the cake away but I took somephotos. I was on vacation one week after our phone conversation so that I could not be able to send the photos right away but 8days later and requested a fund refund to the original payment type. Gina replied ' We were expecting this as agreedimmediately after our communication by phone a few weeks ago'. She thought 8 days later is 'a few weeks ago'. She offered me a$25 gift certificate but that is not what I want. The store (Gina) does not care about the customer satisfaction especially areturning customer like me . I dont review on many places often but this bakery right here deserves a great review and much more!!! Besides their cakes and... treats tasting amazingly delicious, their customer service is AMAZING!!! We bought a rum cake for my sister's birthday. We hada minor issue and let me say they treated us GREAT!!! They baked us a fresh rum cake and although we decided to go with adifferent flavor than the original, the owner was so nice to give us the fresh rum cake, a chocolate cake, AND goodies at nocost. He went out of his way to make sure that his customers left with a smile on their face!! We can't thank them enough forsuch generosity!! Customer service at this level is very rare!! They have set the bar pretty high!!! If you are ever inHartford, CT this is a must go to place!!! I promise you won't regret it! They have amazing treat, cakes, bread andmore!!????????????
