It was sooo busy on a beautiful October Sunday, what with the kids soccer teams and all... I'm sure that was why my chocolate... malt was vanilla custard with streaks of chocolate...and if they didn't forget to add the malt then there wasn't enough Read more

Dude, those hot dog buns are so old. My Chicago dog bun was so hard I couldn't even chew it. Please throw the rest out, and buy... your customers some new buns. Geez. Also, next time you make a strawberry shake, maybe don't put a million strawberries in itthat are so big you can't even drink the shake with a straw, because the berry's lodge into the straw constantly. Not what it used to be. We saw two people order the same thing and come out visibly different (chocolate vs vanilla custard),... back to back. VERY odd hours.. why would a custard/ice cream shop be closed on Sundays during the summer? No surprise theywere dead on a hot Saturday afternoon, when people can't rely on them being open during obvious hours. Read more

Too long of a wait and food was warm-ish and just ok; I honestly think they were too busy and our actual food was forgotten... about over all the ice cream going out. Looks like a happening spot and if you like it, I don't want to discourage. Read more

First timer this weekend and found out Mickey's is delicious! Fries were hot and crispy. The burger patty was juicy and... delicious! The entire burger was perfect with a sturdy toasted bun and the sandwich was not sloppy despite the ketchup and mayoI requested as toppings. The custard was tasty too! I might return...weekly! Mickey?s is an absolute old-fashioned gem. If you?re a Hartford resident who?s never been or someone visiting the area, GO. It?s... a must with a charming exterior and awesome food. The burgers are truly excellent (similar to Culver?s in my opinion butsignificantly better) and the ice-cream is also fantastic. I myself can?t live without their strawberry shake/malt. If you?re astrawberry shake fan like myself, this may be one of the best you?ve ever had. Their deep-fried green beans tastefarmer?s-market fresh and the cheese curds are always a tasty side too! Honestly, everything I?ve had here is good. It?s made toorder which is really nice - just prepare for a bit of a wait if the place is hopping. Outdoor seating only but we just eat inour car if the weather isn?t cooperating. This food is worth the cold and/or rain! And no, it?s not as cheap as, say, Culver?s,but the quality is worth the cost. You get what you pay for. Read more

I grew up in an area that had more single spot, old school custard and grilled burger concepts instead of just drive through... mass produced stuff. This reminds me of home. Of how things used to be. The custard here rivals my hometown spots of Ted Drew'sand Fritz's. Rich and tasty. Sitting on a bench with it dripping down the cone into your fingers while you make memories withyour kids. The hero of their stand for me though is the burgers. Locally sourced beef that you can almost sense you drove pastthe farm a few days prior. You know it's great quality. The cheese is the right kind that melts but doesn't dissolve away. Roughchopped onions. I like the Chicago relish on mine. Just a great old school burger that I could eat in place of almost everyother burger for the season they are open. I appreciate the fact that food is not being handed to me 3 minutes after I orderedit. That's how it should be: grilled to order, one order at a time. For those wanting food faster, I would suggest one thegolden arches. For those wanting a freshly made amazing tasting burger, this is for you Read more

Fantastic food and friendly service. Burgers, fries, fried green beans, cheese curds, amazing frozen custard, and so much more!... Order at the window and wait while they make it fresh. Outdoor seating only. And don't forget to grab a Frosty Paw for the dog. Read more
