I'm not sure if they have the coldest beer as they claim, but the service is excellent and the food is very good. They have many... choices of smoked meats and fish. Side dishes are tasty. The restaurant has a storied history and a special country charm. Thisold inn has been nicely restored and maintained. Reservations might be needed during peak hours if you want to have a seat nearthe windows or in a preferred location. Parking is rather limited near the building but a little walk is not a problem. Weenjoyed our visits here. Read more

Absolutely love the Nisbet Inn! It's a staple in this area, with the coldest beer in town leading the charge of excellence. Home... cooking, down home folk, and a lot of history is what you'll find here. How can they not be cool with a good old fashionedjukebox?! Read more

Came from Vincennes for lunch with all my coworkers, most of which had never been there. It was a delightful experience due to... great food and service! Jamie made enthusiastic recommendations and was attentive to us even though it looked like she was theonly server. She juggled it all efficiently and a with a smile on her face! We had brisket sandwiches, club sandwiches,Becky?s(from the kitchen) brisket sandwich and tried slaw, potato salad, spicy fries. We ended the meal with blackberry pie withice cream, lemon meringue pie, and the better than your husband dessert. It was a fun time! We will make a point to come back!Thank you! Read more

This was a pretty neat place to eat. The service was great. My wife and I both love bbq so, we were super excited to eat here.... We both, however, didn't realy care for the BBQ. The BBQ sauce is more of a Carolina, vinegar base, sauce and was tangy. Weboth enjoy a sauce that is more of a Kansas city type and has some sweetness to it. We weren't super impressed with the smoketaste either. I like a really heavy smoke flavor. Now people that like the Carolina sauce may love it. The place was packedand I would definitely go back and try their fish and burgers that looked very good. The cornbread was pretty good and theonion rings were very good also. Again, the service was spot on. I would definitely give it another try, with differentchoices for my meal, if I was in the area again. Read more

Went here for supper with a couple of friends. I ordered the smoked tilapia with baked potato and slaw. The tilapia did taste... smoked and very tender, well cooked. The baked potato was done and the slaw was very good. I enjoyed my time there. One of themen with me ordered ribs, they looked very good and he couldn't eat them all, they were covered in barbecue sauce, he said nexttime he would order them dry with sauce on the side. Nice place to go. Lots of history in this little place. Read more
