Just had breakfast at this wonderful place. HUGE portions for the the price! Fast friendly waitress, and a very inviting... environment. Will be a must for us to do every time we pass through the area. Highly recommend. Wish there was a 5 star plusoption, because they sure would get it from us! Read more
Kawartha's isn't usually sold by the scoop anywhere close to where I live so I always look forward to getting some on the road... from a camp trip. The Ranch Restaurant sells a two-flavour mountain for $3.50! Such a treat. Would highly recommend to all whoare traveling along Highway 7a. Depicted in photo: top - Wolf Paws, bottom - Pralines and Cream (at the recommendation of thestaff). Pralines were candied and sosososososoooo good! Read more
Got a big bowl of ice cream for only 3.50? Crazy prices I'll never find in Toronto. They use Kawartha Dairy ice cream and list... their available flavours on their service window. They accept card and cash. The line is formed outside of the restaurant on theleft side. They have some tables outside around the other side with shade so you can sit and enjoy your ice cream. The place is always busy no matter what time of day. Tried the special, 1/2 price for rack of ribs, they were good, just a... little on the fatty side. Daughter loved the grilled chicken. Shakes and floats are amazing. Be sure to take a pie home fromtheir refrigerator. The banana cream pie was delicious! Read more
Great ?DINER? spot serving all the fixings you?d expect from a roadhouse! Very much enjoyed their all day breakfast. Huge... portions served hot and just the way I asked. Very good value for what you pay. Portions were nice size. Staff very friendly. It?s definitely a diner. It?s clean but basic... decor. Had eggs and ham, rye toast and home fries. Everything tasted great except coffee was a bit weak and disappointed thatthe breakfast home fries were a waffle cut style and not chunks of potatoes most restaurants serve at breakfast. The 1/2ranchers special was perfect size for me. Right off the hwy 7 and ample parking. Will try them again for sure as a quick stop onour drives. Read more
Great "on the road" dinner style place with terrific food (all day breakfast) and very reasonably priced. Skip the chain places... and grab a bite of real food here. Bottomless coffee and cheerful service make it worth the stop. And plenty of parking. Read more
