Stuffed chicken was amazing! Perfectly crispy and great sides. The Caesar salad with grilled pineapple was a complete... disappointment though - definitely don't order it. It came with only one tiny slice of pineapple, and I don't even think it wasgrilled. Cocktails were also pretty good, and the location/view can't be beat! We waited 1,15 hr for our pizza. I ordered my pizza without cilantro (I am allergic) and the arugula hat cilantro hidden inside.... The servers were working hard , but understaffed and service in general extremely slow. What bothered me the most was the factof tip suggestions. Math must work different in this restaurant then everywhere else on this planet... Food was generally ok,but definitely not worth the money. Huge sizes , would've loved smaller sizes and prices. Beautiful restaurant, with good food, good service and good views. I removed one star only coz you don't get a view after... sunset. The glass reflects a lot, and you only end up seeing the reflection of the restaurant rather than the glow from thelava..so it's better to go during the day. The views are great then. Do reserve a table before you go. Once you have areservation they are flexible to let you in earlier or later, which I appreciated. But make sure to have a reservation. Read more

The views here are fabulous, best way to wake up in the morning. We also love the breakfast buffet here (especially the omelet... station!). The bathrooms are in the back, near the bar, and very large. Dinner has live music, and a wonderful glow from thelava at nightfall. Read more

The view is fantastic. Unfortunately, the service was very slow, the food was only OK, and the prices were high. My grilled... chicken burger with fries was food, but nothing special. There is potential here for The Rim to be a truly memorable diningexperience but it's going to take more than a great view. Read more

Stopped here for a late lunch after several hours of hiking around the volcano rim. This was perfect! The staff were all very... friendly and prompt and informative about options. The Hawaiian made ginger beer was refreshing. The pasta dish (good vegetarianoption) was delicious and the perfect size. We had a table by the window and it was lovely to look out over the caldera. This place had a nice view. The food was ok. The chicken sandwich could have used more sauce in my opinion, although I am a... chef for a living so I was thinking I would have tossed the whole piece of fried chicken in a sauce then put it on the bun, thefries were cold. The tomato bisque with grilled cheese was very good. My wife ordered a mojito and she didn't care for it, mycoke was good though. This place is probably one of the better options for volcano. It is rare that one can enjoy dinner and a dramatic view. The Rim offers both a spectacular view of the smoking and glowing... caldera, with a fair menu. Staff is friendly and food restores, although they tend to run out of some menu items frequently. Ahighlight, if they have it available is their coffee creme brulee dessert. Read more
