Tacos 5 De Mayo let's everyone celebrate Cinco de Mayo, everyday! 2 things were what led me to Tacos 5 De Mayo - handmade... tortillas & meat fresh off the grill, which is located right next to the entrance. Not having an appetite to warrant orderingthe carne asada nachos, I went with a taco flight of carne asada, al pastor, birria & gobernador (shrimp). Unfortunately, I wastold al pastor wasn't available, so I went with another birria taco. Gobernador taco- The shrimp was well seasoned, topped w/creamy guac & sauce. Very good. Birria taco- Meat so tender, you don't even need teeth. Tacos 5 De Mayo's birria is the realdeal. Carne asada taco- Just as expected, the carne asada taco did not disappoint. Now, while the various meat were delicious& tasted great, being the first customer of the day, the meat for my tacos were leftovers, which were heated up, and not freshlygrilled (al carbon). Nothing beats fresh off the grill. Probably next time, I should arrive later to ensure that doesn'thappen, again. Service was good. The gentleman allowed me to get a table before opening, and the wait for food wasn't long, atall. The large dining room can accommodate large parties. A billiard room has 2 tables & 2 dartboards, with flatscreen TV's towatch sports. Currently, there are plans to have more seafood items added & menudo offered on the weekends. Almost 5 stars,Tacos 5 De Mayo! If my orders were still sizzling off the grill, 5 stars would've been a lock. Nevertheless, I immenselyenjoyed my lunch at Tacos 5 De Mayo. The food's good, the red sauce's hot, and I'll have to order the carne asada nachos, nexttime. Which, most assuredly, will be soon. Read more
All the food here is excellent, ingredients top quality, and the hospitality of the owners is fantastic. Their tortillas are... handmade, and the tacos gobernador with the delicious shrimp may be the best tacos I've ever had. The place pleasant, new andimmaculately clean. Solid place! Perfect place for a great value lunch. I got a carne asada burrito, al pastor nachos, and stuffed churros totalled... $22. It came with slices of cucumber and turnip per meal, limes and some salsa. I think the salsa was made of habaneros, fairlyspicy for the faint of heart. The carne asada burrito was good. I wished there was some salsa, sour cream, or something inthere to bring it together. Tasted a bit dry and all the beef was on the bottom half of the burrito. They ran out of fries, soI got the pastor nachos instead. The pastor had great flavor and it was tender. There was plenty of the pastor on the dish. Thenacho chips tasted freshly fried thick tortillas. I enjoyed it. The churros were stuffed with what I think is caramel and Ithought it was really good. It's really sweet, you can see from the picture that it was packed with sugar. For $3, it's worth atry. I got here at 8:30pm on Sunday. The cashier was really sweet. The restaurant was completely empty and it doesn't look likeany other orders were pending. Parking was easy as it looked like everything else in the plaza was empty. Read more

Great Tj style tacos. The asada is cooked over open flame, gives it great flavor. The Al pastor is tender and flavorful. We also... like the churro bites filled with caramel.
