Went to Popeye's for the very first time on Sunday. I was craving a spicy chicken sandwich and Cajun fries. Unfortunately it... wasn't until I got home that I realized they gave me a regular chicken sandwich and the fries they gave me didn't have the Cajunspice. I'd been to the Popeyes in Old Bridge/Marlboro and it was awful, so was highly reluctant to try this one. But it was so hot out,... I didn't feel like cooking, and I received a circular in the mail. I am so glad I gave it a try. I ordered the 10pc family meal,a large side of red beans and rice, and 5 tenders. The spicy was pretty hot, but still very good. The pieces of chicken were notovercooked and dried out, as in my previous experience. The gravy with my mashed potatoes was a little spicy and delicious.Their red beans and rice are fantastic. Even the dipping sauces for the tenders were unique. Service for takeout was excellent,very polite. I wouldn't hesitate to go back. Read more
Popeyes in Hazlet. They tried to rip me off and then wouldn't give me my money back. Ordered a 12 piece of tenders that the menu... board said 16.99 but they charged me 24.99. When I corrected them they told me they weren't gonna refund me because that is theprice. I had to argue with them until they gave it. Then the manager made a rude remark about me fighting over 8 dollars. Read more
Terrible service. I went to the drive thru to order 2 meals. When I pulled up to pay I was told there was a 15 min wait for... spicy chicken I said that's fine. 30 mins later the manage came and said these were the last set of wings and I was lucky. Onlyto find out when I got home he sold me old wings that taste and look like they had been on the shelf ALL DAY!!! I live 20 minsaway with a new born and when I tried calling the store no one would pick up. Read more
Update: Not sure what happened to this place. The food used to always be tasty and fresh. Now it's old and they never get the... order right. Maybe a change in management? I used to go once a week for a family meal, not any more. Read more
