This is our third time eating at Chalkboard and the food, service and ambiance never cease to impress! The bouillabaisse was... perfectly light while still being satisfying enough for an entree, the salmon was amazing as well and went perfectly with thecorn and green beans it was served with! For dessert we had the cherry sorbet since we were celebrating a birthday whichconveniently (intentionally?) tasted delicious with the black Forrest verrine, so delicious! Second time dining at this restaurant and I am utterly surprised at the service my partner and I received. Our server did not... enjoy serving us. She served the table next to us and payed little to no attention to our table compared to the one next to us.Not to mention she brought new plates to our table after our first tasting and the plates were ugly and old. No one else dininghad these ugly white plates. She brought the table next to us the regular black ones and at that moment we noticed she wastreating us differently. She wore glasses and had her hair in a bun with silver hoops, couldn’t catch her name. We had a wonderful experience here! The service was very friendly and pretty quick, and the food was absolutely amazing. We also... ordered cocktails, which were great but obviously drove up the price-per-person. Our waitress said it's usually suggested toorder a few things and share, which made it easier for us to try more menu items and worked out really well for us. Read more

Please you got to try the Porcini Gigli! That’s really really good! The next best is the fruitsdemer which a seafood comping... like dish is gastronomical and the toffee fudge and sour apple sorbet for desert is a delight! Read more
Upscale casual bistro located in the Les Mars Hotel just off the square in Healdsburg. Tapas type of menu and the servers do a... good job explaining portions etc, so we were perfect on what we ordered. We started with an excellent steelhead trout crudo- sodelicate it melted in your mouth and was paired with an excellent hot pepper and citrus sauce. We each got a salad - the Caesarwas very good and the market salad had an amazing vinaigrette dressing. For dinner the steak came perfectly prepared medium rareand the clams were served in a hearty spicy and garlicky sauce. For dessert we chose the Toffee cake with ice cream - this wasthe only improvement I noted - basically a small 1.5” scoop of ice cream with a 6” diameter cake - just a slightly largeramount of ice cream would have been perfect.
