Heard about this "Top 100 Texas BBQ" place on Facebook. The sliced brisket sandwich and the loaded baked potato were hands down... the best I've ever had. Maybe the friendliest staff I've ever had had the pleasure of meeting as well. Only downside is theytend to run out of items as the day goes on, so get there early if you want the most options. While they aren't shy aboutletting everyone know this, they will absolutely recommend something they do still have that my money says will be AMAZING. Read more
Not a bad little bbq shack. Most people order to go. The lady running the place doesn't mind telling you she gets her brisket... from Kroger. She doesn't mind telling you that she might not have smoked enough meat for the day because she doesn't want a lotleft over. They open at 11 am and by the time we got there at 11:15 she was telling us she was almost out of brisket. Mostpeople order ahead. The meat is a little above average. Potato salad is store bought and the beans I can't tell if she makesthem or not. Sausage is also just a little above average. This is a neighborhood bbq restaurant, so their biggest customers arethe ones that live in the area. All in all it's not bad, but I'm not going to go there for a bbq fix. The food was delicious. Brisket was fork-tender with a nice, crispy crust. Enjoyed the potato salad and beans. However, in... this little place we waited 40 minutes for our food. Bring a book. Read more
This place is really good. If your journey takes you within a hour of this out-of-the-way place, go here. The brisket is as good... as the best you?ve had. However, the sausage is really special. Garlic and jack cheese might sound odd but it really works andis fantastic. Stuffed potato was good as were all the sides we had. Nice folks too. I?ll return as soon as I can. Read more
What a delicious stop for BBQ! I made the drive out of College Station on a recent trip and it was well worth the drive. This is... one of those little hole in the wall places that is a gem! Stopped by for Sunday lunch. Take OSR to the East off of highway 6 on the north side of Bryan. It is many miles out to the... Blue Moon BBQ. It is on the South East corner of OSR and Macey road next to the store. We ordered at the inside order window. We ordered a rib/brisket plate with bean and potato salad and a brisket/turkey plate with beans and cole slaw. The food wasfine and tasty. They have both inside and outside tables. Meat was very plain (not much seasoning) & was not very warm. Beans were cold. The service was very very slow. And, it was... really high in price. I really expected better from a Texas Monthly top 50?. Read more
