Our family has visited several times over the years and had nothing but great things to say. Unfortunately this trip did not... live up to past expectations. The meal started off poorly when the "assorted artisinal bread" turned out six pieces of stalebaguette. We ordered all of the main entrees and were not impressed with any of them. The staff was very welcoming andfriendly but unfortunately not very knowledgeable about the menu. It is a beautiful venue but the food was a majordisappointment especially for the price tag. This restaurant is truly a special place and a labor of love. Who would have thought that such high end French meets Montana... food exists in Helena? Truly one of the best meals I've ever had. My friend Stan and I both got the 3 course set meal and lovedevery morsel, from the salad to the entree to the dessert. The staff and owners are also super friendly. It's clear that thestaff loves working here. I've been blessed to have dined at some of the finest restaurants in the world and this is certainlyup there. We really enjoyed eating here as a special treat for my moms birthday. There were some foods she hadn't tried before, excellent... service, and a lovely atmosphere. We were in a room just for our group, which was nice privacy. Food and wine was great. Read more
I made a reservation for dinner to celebrate a birthday. I was looking for a very special place, and I was excited to eat here... based on the website and the great reviews. It took one hour to get our food from the time we ordered. The steaks weresmoldered in sauce and one was over cooked. They were supposed to make a special dessert for my mother in law, whose birthday wewere celebrating, and they didn?t. I was told it was due to a miss-communication . The table was wobbly, and the carpet and rugswere dirty. To top it off, it was very expensive. I will never go back and I would not recommend this place to anyone. Helenahas much better choices. Delicious! We went for the early bird special with our 2 year old. The staff was so friendly and attentive, and the food was... awesome. Large portions, too! We couldn't finish it all and brought some home with us. Our kiddo loved seeing all of theanimals. Beautiful setting inside and out. Read more

This was with out a doubt THE BEST food I have ever had!! I had higher expectations from hearing of Maison but did not think it... would actually hold up to what I had heard. In my head I thought there was no way it could get better than some of the places Igo to in LA with friends but it surpassed everywhere I have ever eaten! The taste and the plating of the food was to die for!Everything was seriously perfect, there is not one thing I could point out, even if I tried my hardest, that was bad about it.Everything complimented each other from the atmosphere to the wines with our courses, and the stout with our dessert!AMAZING!!! Maison is not only the very best food you will ever have but the experience of it is another key quality that makesme want to fly back out to Montana since the day I left! The people at Maison are some of the nicest and most genuine men andwomen you will meet. They made us feel so special and welcome. They took such good care of us! The food was spaced out perfectlyand the wine they paired with each course was. excellent!!! I think something that is so special about it is that it is such atop quality establishment but you are still having that Montana feel. They aren't trying to be something else, they hold true toauthentic Montana in their staff and their kindness as well as keeping their building true to how they found it.
