The carnitas is so good! A great mix of skin and meat! All of it was tender and delicious. The beans are by far, some of the... best I?ve had in a long time. The flavor was so delicious! The tortillas are so good! Taste just like homemade. I only regret,not taking some to go. The chips and queso are great, although the chips were a bit hard, and greasy, although fresh.Everything was so good! I?ve found my new favorite spot for sure! The restrooms were clean and tidy. The atmosphere is cozy andcomfortable. The people that work there are super helpful and happy to help answer any questions about the menu. Read more
I usually would go to the Boerne TX location but I decided to check out the Helotes location this time. It's a great spot with... plenty of seating and parking. Serving is fast and the same great taste as well. We will definitely be coming back and bringingour friends and family. Read more
Mary?s Tacos on Bandera, slow down or you may miss this Gem?. Best Breakfast Tacos on this side of SA don?t take my word drive... by and see the crowded parking lot. I have been here a few times and they never disappoint. It?s like they have a productionline setup in there. Never a long wait, customer service is awesome, and most of all the food is ????% ???????????????????? andthe prices are less than a gallon of gas????. If you haven?t been there you missing out. They also sell lunch and it?s also????????????????????. Mary?s has great authentic Mexican dishes that makes you come back over & over and the prices are lessthat 2gal of gas????. Been to Mary?s Tacos in Boerne, Tx and was excited when I noticed this one come up in Helotes. A bit closer to San Antonio.... Brought the family here and Mary?s Tacos did not disappoint. Come here frequently and the experience is always on and off: sometimes, even in the mornings, they are out of some toppings and... they don?t let you know until it?s time to pick up an order (so you obviously don?t have a choice and have to get somethinginstead, of course it?s something cheaper). They change $0.75 to add a pinch of cilantro and a pinch of white onion to a taco,it?s very expensive. Tables always dirty. Cashiers always unfriendly. Often on the weekends (even in the mornings) they are outof green salsa. Very often green salsa is over salty. Very often when it?s 30-40 minutes until they close, they stop makingfresh beverages (tea, coffee) and they don?t let you know about it at the register, so you end up paying for a beverage and staywith a cup of water. Regarding tacos: inconsistency in tortillas quality - they are often come unevenly rolled and undercooked.Toppings quality is also on and off: when barbacoa is not too greasy, I often get chunks of inedible pieces. Papas oftenundercooked and I have a strong crunch in my taco. Carne is very chewable, almost impossible to eat. We love the Mary's Tacos in Boerne so we were delighted to be able to travel closer and still enjoy these delicious tacos! This... location is easy to get to and inside is gorgeous! I loved the openness and how bright everything was with all the windows. Howcute is it that they added the window into the kitchen, you can see the employees making the fresh tortillas! We ordered fourtacos and two drinks for a total of less than $20 dollars and they were EVERY bit just as good as the tacos for the originalBoerne location. We can not wait to become loyal patrons of our favorite taco spot now at this closer location. We will still beback to the Beorne location of course! 10/10 recommend for any taco lover! Read more
First time here. Didn't have high hopes for a Mexican restaurant in Helotes, but I was so very wrong. While the food is quite... tasty and well seasoned, the tortillas are the star. They have a thick, rich flavor and feel that reminds me of grandma's backin the 80s. Will come back for sure to try more! Read more
I have been struggling with this review. Had to go with 3???s as they had some amazing menu items and others that were bland... and uninspired. My chicken mole enchiladas were wonderful. My mom?s Carne Guisada was moist, tender and exceptional. And thehand rolled flour tortillas were astounding. In contrast, the refried beans were bland and soupy, the potatoes were seasonedlike the Spanish rice, which didn?t work for us. Sides were served Luke warm. Cleanliness was a problem too. I wiped down ourtable, before we sat down, and had to pick up potato and sausage pieces on the floor. We did lunch platters which are not thefocus of the menu. I recommend sticking with the large taco?s in a wide variety and stay away from lunch plates. Read more
