There are some restaurants that you walk away from feeling absolutely blissful — satiated, cared for, indulged. Don’t... expect anything close to this from Colby Hill Inn’s Grazing Room. It was the worst dining service experience I’ve had sinceyears before COVID. Until management is overhauled, do NOT waste your time nor money. The other night I had family in town andso we aimed for a special night out at the Grazing Room. Aside from the biscuits and chowder (which were a delight), there wereno praises to be found. Close to $500 later, we had consumed mediocre meals that arrived not as described (I see you rainbowchard vs. the anticipated broccolini) and lacking any sort of gold-level credentials. I get why it may be. The service industryhas been clobbered during and after COVID. Still, what we experienced felt personal as we were belittled as patrons andsteamrolled with brash interruptions multiple times throughout the meal. Passive aggressiveness was palpable. Service wasgenerally slow and haphazard — helicopter parented by the innkeeper himself, who admittedly may have decent sommelier-likeknowledge, but rose to grand heights as the rudest and most pretentious server we’ve ever encountered. In fact, theabsenteeism you sometimes vibe from a QSR would have been greatly appreciated versus our experience at this “fine”institution. Why he was passing drinks and shuffling plates while not rising as a leader and chief customer ambassador, I canonly begin to surmise. Our conclusion following the dizzying dinner was that the establishment is mismanaged. A love forcustomers and their needs is antithetical to the current ethos imparted by its leader, who, by the way, didn’t even look upfrom his smartphone as he uttered a questionably authentic “good evening” as we strolled outside to the beautiful groundsunder a near full moon. If you’re in the area, do yourself a favor and detour to Revival for a light year's better dinner. And a pleasant experience. Read more

Had a delicious lunch, very well done. I enjoyed the chicken. We all enjoyed the chili sauce, personally, I would have liked a... bit more heat. Read more

Amazing place. The owners, Jeff and Bruce, really know what they are doing. We just had our rehearsal dinner yesterday and... everything was great. We have been here many times over and really love this place. Highly recommend! Read more

I took my wife here for Mother's Day dinner. My wife had the English pea and ham tasted good but was lukewarm. My lamb stop meal... was good but the French white beans work hold even warm. My wife has a mushroom allergy and they could not accommodate thisissue. Maybe because of Mother's Day not sure. So she opted for the Cornish hen. Her whole meal was lukewarm. The hen was dry.The whip potato seriously tasted like instant potatoes. There was probably a tablespoon of the braised vegetables. The coconutlime tart was really good. We felt like we were rushed the servers never really that's more than a few seconds at the table andtook off. I know holidays that can be really busy but just did not have a warm feeling. Overall disappointed especially for $70a meal. No one ever asked us how was our meal. Or if we needed anything else. Read more
