Great local place. The staff is AMAZING! The drinks are a little inconsistent. But they are more than willing to make it right.... And they have a wide selection. The food is above average 7 to 8 out of 10. I give them 5 stars for 3 main reasons. 1) A greatstaff that wants to make sure you are 100% satisfied. 2) I can walk there. 3) The drinks at there best are a 10 out of 10. Read more

The food was not what we expected. The pork egg rolls had sweet meat. The salt/pepper chicken wings were over-salted. The pho... broth was overly sweet. This was my first Vietnamese dining experience so I don’t have much to compare it to, but I enjoyed everything about my visit... here. I'm mad I just found this place in Herndon! The atmosphere is laid back, jazz siphoning off from the speakers, plenty of TVs to... watch, and lovely big windows to watch the world go by. There's a private room for parties and two bar areas. It's notoverwhelming to the senses, just a laid back place to eat. But let me tell you, Alo Vietnam Restaurant & Bar has amazingVietnamese food! The ingredients are fresh! The noodles in their pho are perfect! Everything was hot and delicious! The ASMRon the spring rolls are so crispy and crunchy! What I've had: The Curry Crab Fried Rice (so much joy)! This is not wet, it's adry curry and it's still just as flavorful! It's best warm, right out of the kitchen. All I needed was a fireplace and a cozyrecliner. This really soothed the soul. The Alo Vietnam Vermicelli! This is my husband's favorite dish. Although, I thought hewas going to steal my Curry Crab Fried Rice. His vermicelli noodles were so al dente! He loved this bowl and I couldn't get itaway from him to have a taste. The Alo Vietnam Pho! Sure, I could have gotten the promotional pho, but the Alo Vietnam Pho wasexactly what I was looking for. It is packed full of delicious meats, herbs, noodles, broth! I would mug a panda for just a bowlof tendon, but I didn't have to because Alo Vietnam Pho has plenty of tendon to go around. It's hard to find a Pho place thatis generous with the tendon. I'm glad I discovered this place in my own town. This means I don't have to travel to Fairfax fora bowl of pho. Alo Vietnam gives a great-sized portion and without all the salt. The broth was light, refreshing, and I drankevery last bit. If you want great pho, check out their weekly specials. This place is definitely two thumbs up! Read more
