First we?ll start with the good. The waitress we had was amazing. Really nice, attentive service, acted really kind, and she was... serving every table in the place. I ordered the chicken noodles and I loved them. It reminded me of noodles I ate in China. Theyhad these restaurants that we Americans called Muslim noodles, very different than typical Chinese food, yet it still wassomewhat Chinese food. My wife said it tasted just like Chinese food but I could taste the difference. The bad, all the rest ofthe good was just okay. The lamb curry was fine, chicken tikka masala was fine, the Naan was actually pretty good, I don't likeIndian rice because it's too dry, the lighting in the place was too strong over the tables, and they replayed the same song overand over again. I tried to tune it out but I still noticed. Overall, I'm still coming back to this place to try other menuitems, just wish the music was different and they changed the bulbs to something warmer. The cashier would not let me open my bag and check my order contents. She said I had to take it outside? Not sure if that was... poor customer service or a terrible policy. It?s pretty standard to want to check to ensure they got my order right. RegardlessI will not be visiting again for dinner or future catering orders. Read more

I ordered the chicken pakora as an appetizer and it was unedible, so tough and old, I challenged the waiter to try my untouched... pieces, he cut into it (struggling) with a knife and wouldn't try it, he said he could see it was tough. If you wouldn't eatthat, why would you serve it to me? I canceled my lunch, what a disappointment! Read more

Very good food and generous portions. The lamb sekuwa was so full of flavor and delicious. We don't like our food as spicy, so... we all requested mild spice and we felt like it was the perfect amount of spice. Take out took a little longer than expectedbut we didn't mind. The staff was very friendly and offered us a drink while we waited. We will definitely be coming back! Read more

Alem is the best waitress this place has ever had. In fact she ran the entire from area from seating parties, taking orders,... bussing tables and answering phones. WOW, what a rock star. Guras has always had the best Indian food in Utah but there servicealways lacked...no longer. They are really lucky to have this caliber of attentiveness. My knife fell during our meal and whileshe was near the back on a call, she proactively brought me a clean knife. Food speclatular as always. Their coconut curry is soflavorful and sweet that I lap up ever bit of it with my tasty garlic naan. Meat is tender and flavorful. Read more

Loved Guras Spice House! Had Lamb Saag, garlic Naan, and Mixed Grill. The service was great, and the food was wonderful.

I went to the buffet today at Guras Spice House. The staff was incredibly friendly and I don't think our server stopped smiling... the whole time we were there. The buffet is laid out weird with the plates in the center and food on both sides. Also theredidn't appear to be any logical placement of the dishes with the Rice, dessert, and "appetizers" located toward the center ofthe line as well. I have been to many of the local Indian restaurants and I would say this one is above average on flavor. Ididn't have anything that blew me away, but everything that I did have tested good. Another oddity was that the website says thebuffet includes a drink (soda), no drink was offered to us. There is a drink station, but it is oddly located and not clear ifit is included in the buffet. Since I don't drink soda it was not an issue. On the up side, our drinks were topped off often (4+times) and never got below half full (and I drink a lot of water). I would definitely recommend if you are in the area. Withmost of these small dinning establishments the food quality probably varies a good amount, but today the food was good. Iprobably would't drive past some of my other locations to get here, but if I was in the middle I might choose this one. Read more
