Absolutely outstanding meal and experience! My wife and I had visited a year ago today for our wedding anniversary dinner and... had one of the best meals in a very long time. We chose to return this year, and our visit tonight lived up to our expectationsand then some. Our server, Ben, is as good as they come. Even though we aren't Mercedes-driving folks (give us our Subaru anyday!), Ben treated us like VIP royalty, all while being the kind of guy that probably would have joined us for a drink if we'dasked him to. Fantastic guy all around. Unsurprisingly, the meal was wonderful. The flatbread app was delicious. For entrees,my wife had the pork and I had the NY strip. Both were cooked to perfection and exceptionally flavorful. The chef's palate forflavor pairings is bar none. Who would have thought that glazed sweet potatoes and lentils would be so delicious! We finishedthe meal with their carrot cake which was moist and decadent. To say we will be back does not do this place justice. The food was amazing. This is not a sisco food prep place. The food seems to be made on site. The food has such fabulous... flavor. If you are looking for quick food prep, you will be sorely disappointed. The food experience takes abt 2 hrs and worthevery second. The wait staff and servers were very attentive. This restaurant is about the food experience and wow, did we everwalk away feeling so grand! We ordered a lot of food and every bite of food was beyond fabulous!!! Read more
Great ambience, decor and food. Friendly staff. Told us about the intervention of the present owner Barbara and their... redevelopment of a motel into this great restaurant 21 years back. Went to hike didn't expect to find this beautiful placenestled amongst the pretty scenery. Amazing experience. Food was great. Took all our tire away. Read more
Very pricey for food that is just ok. We were all a bit disappointed with our dishes. The pork dish was overcooked. The pasta... dish was pretty blah. Our server was trying his best, but he was also the bartender for a busy restaurant, so it was hard forhim to check on us regularly. I have been here many times over the years, but I?m not sure I will return any time soon. Read more
I didn't know what to expect here. Durango is known for its food, but this was 15 minutes away in Hesperus, a very small place.... I ordered the Fennel Pollen Dusted Sea Scallops, roasted carrots north-african style, and Duck Two Way (recommendation from myserver Ben, and he was so right). To put it plainly, one of the top 5 meals of my life, and definitely the best duck dish I'veever had. 5 stars isn't enough, would highly recommend! Read more
