Nice little local seafood restaurant. I had the grouper steak. I want really a fan. Normally I love grouper but I didn't like... the fish I had there. Service was spectacular though and the atmosphere is kind of what you would expect from a smallmom-and-pop seafood place. They have a walk up counter in addition to their sit down restaurant. I had a memory of a place that when I was a kid my Father enjoyed so much and what a mistake it was! I was around the area and I... thought Fish it is. Cod Fritters (Frituras de Bacalao). They had only the scent of Cod Oil maybe ! but no Cod fish forsure. Fried Calamari (Calamares Fritos) whomever is cooking they need to know oil temperatures and proper competitive recipes! It was soggy, room temperature the shrimp tomato sauce must go!!! Fried Fish Sandwich (Minuta) had no flavor, itwas.a colorful piece.of soggy fried fish with a generic tartar sauce not even Hot less than room temperature. Steak Sandwich(Pan con bistec) OMG I was craving an impossible!! The only good part was the bread, the traditional crispy potatoesdisappeared, they added some potato fried crumbles that don't help much, soggy and with a seafood after taste. Daily Specials(Especiales del Sabado) Pescado relleno con camarones incluso 2 acompanantes.. If you like a Fish Pizza it is your dish!! Itdoesn't say anywhere in the menu anything about Cheese but is topped heavily with mozzarella, vegetables looked like just cameout of the frozen bag.. Service was gracious and the male server did a great job holding the restaurant until 12pm when 3servers walked in but the rush was gone. Probably nobody from the administration will ever see this review but I am sure itwill help others... My memories are shut I wouldn't go back to it..... Read more

This iconic place has provide and excellent 5 Stars food since i can remember. From my grandparents, Mother , me and now my... children we will continue to make this place at least a once a week dinning experience. There good is fresh and their cook isone of the BEST BEHIND THE GRILL. Service is outstanding. You never have to look for your attendant as they're always there. The is addictive for obviously good reason. I would recommend the Solon Marinero or Pan con Minuta. You will remember me whenyou take your first byte. Enjoy. Thank you to the staff and owners for maintaining this ICONIC part of the city of Hialeah. Read more

I had heard of this place for a long time, many of my Hispanic friends have eaten here and this was a known seafood restaurant... in Hialeah. I finally decided to come for my boyfriend's birthday with our son and my dad and it was just a bad experience. Weshould've gotten up and left when we had the chance. For starters, we called to ensure they had oysters and an employeeconfirmed they did, so we decided to give it a try. When we walked up the entrance was filled with water as they were cleaningthe outdoor windows. We are then seated to be told that they do not sell oysters, on the shell only cocktail oysters and they donot have horseradish. As we were already seated, and everyone was hungry we decided to give it a try anyway but honestly weshould've just gotten up and left. The place was completely empty and should've been a sign. As we are ordering another couplewalks in and are seated as well. We begin to order an appetizer (fried Calamari), which was overcooked and battered up alltogether. The sauce served with it not good either. I should probably also mention that my boyfriend has been in the foodindustry for years and to top it off they had tartar sauces on each table which is something that should be refrigerated. Wealso ordered two bowls of soups, my dad orders a grouper soup and my boyfriend ordered a cream of lobster. The cream of lobsterhad a yellowish color (creams are normally white) and was served in a cup size instead of a bowl. My dad's soup was all waterwith very small bits of fish towards the bottom and very little flavor and was served in a bowl. I ordered shrimp fettuccini, the pasta was dry and seemed old (you could see the fridge burn) and the sauce was clumpy and had an odd smell. I ended uppicking the shrimp out of it only as I didn't want to seem like a problematic customer. My dad and boyfriend orders the seafoodrice (one had a lobster the other didn't). Both were dry, barely had seafood in it, clam/mussel shells were empty Read more

Came here for lunch ... the place looks clean and service was good. Three stars because food was ok but just that... ok. They... have lunch specials for every day of the week which is very affordable and it comes fast out of the kitchen. I had the creolefish special and it was a good portion and that comes with 2 sides. From the rest of the menu prices vary from like $15 to $20on most dishes. Read more
