Awesome Mexican Grill!! Love the salsa bar!! 2 years later?. Been a while since I stopped into Rancho Viejo, but went by on... Sunday for lunch. I believe they are even better than they were when we were able to stop in on a regular basis! I had theTrio Enchiladas. One beef, One Pork and One Cheese each with a different sauce on them and topped with sour cream. The platealso came with rice and beans. The chips and salsa were excellent and tasted fresh. My waitress was very nice and friendly andchecked on me regularly. I got there just after they opened and they did not have the salsa bar set up yet, which was adisappointment, I always enjoyed that. My wife had the carnitas tacos. The 3 tacos were stuffed. She really enjoyed them but had trouble finishing them. Good thing I... wad there to help. Wish Mexican restaurants had real salsa along with the chips. Most of them taste like marinara sauce. Weasked one of the staff to get us some salsa of what they eat. Much better. Read more

Very good Mexican restaurant in Hickory. The interior includes brick arches and carved wood benches for the booths. I was seated... promptly and received good service. The chips and salsa came out very quickly. They have a fresh salsa bar with many choices toaugment the salsa they bring to your table. I ordered the POLLO RELLENO (#33) on the recommendation of my waiter and it wasoutstanding! I ordered a couple of margaritas too. The ?skinny margarita? was very tasty as they use fresh juices and a topshelf tequila to make it. I also ordered a House Margarita (which are pre-made) and it was NOT good at all for my tastes. Themargarita mix they use is way too sweet and I really couldn?t taste the tequila at all. I asked for some limes (twice as Ineeded more) so that I could doctor it up instead of sending it back. When I I got my bill I was charged $1.25 for the limes.I?ve never been charged for limes but I guess it?s their policy and I didn?t say anything about it.
