Nice looking restaurant, a nice change from the run-down appearance of most of the restaurants in High Level. It was clean and... not very busy for a late morning breakfast. Last week - pancakes and bacon and eggs. The pancakes were cooked pretty well, butthe taste of icing sugar reminded me that this is an American corporate chain restaurant with most of its food sourced fromSysco Systems or some similar establishment. Deep fried bacon was nothing special. Eggs were cooked properly, although I wasnever asked how I'd like them done and I don't really expect there to be any difference - a common Canadian theme. The serverwas reasonable but it was clear that they had just started and didn't have restaurant experience. A few days later, I made themistake of trying some type of beef dip sandwich, which contained a quarter pound of overpowering processed swiss cheese, somekind of bland cheap cut of beef prepared en masse, and an almost flavourless Au Jus. It came on plain white bread, which wasnot the same as the photo on the menu, which was greasy and anemic. The fries were reasonable, but not for the price. I wasseated by two people, one of whom passed me onto whomever could be bothered to take the next customer, and then served by yetanother person who disappeared once they had taken my order. Three times another server bothered me and forgot that I hadalready been served. Since my server was gone, I paid at the front counter - sorry to the front of house manager if I intrudedon your valuable time standing there. Its not like I'm a repeat customer anyway. Price was the biggest problem I have withthis place for this quality of food. Not only does the Debit machine give only three options for tipping all of which were overwhat I felt was deserved for the service I received. As usual we just travel through high level going South or North. Denny's is new to High Level. Staff were friendly, polite and... quick to assist us. Food was generous portions and tasted very good. Order was filled fairly quickly. We took our order to gobut from what I could see of the restaurant and lounge were both clean and well maintained. Definity will order from here thenext time through. The food was disgusting and cold. The Turkey in my sandwich tasted old and stale. My fries were cold. Just a rough way to... start my Saturday. I recommend a and w for food rather than coming to this Dennys in highevel. The server never came to checkin use once. We even complained to the manager didn't do anything. Read more
Brought my family for breakfast on Canada day. The food was delicious, the location is clean, the service was mediocre. Only... three tables were occupied and it took over 10 minutes (and a promt for service) before a server came to take our drink order.We were not offered refills of our coffee until our food was delivered to us 20 minutes later. during my various visits to this location it has been nothing but welcoming and great, the staff do their jobs extremely great... in making sure you're serviced well and looked after. the menu is packed with delicious options that make you salivate, I wouldlike to extend a great deal of praise and respect to the owners/managers and the employee's too. 10/10 always a wicked visit andgreat atmosphere. Visited for a Sunday breakfast soon after they started. The food was simply too good. I had the salted caramel and banana waffle... with a sausage (super 'herb-y' flavours), eggs and hash browns. Pancakes were fluffy, served with foamy cream and sweet caramelon top. The coffee was good too. The place looked quite big but they informed right at the start of the breakfast that the staffis still being trained and so they were only serving a few tables at a time. The service is amazing and I love how the decor is however the food is subpar at best. The vegetables from the Mama?s Pot Roast... is so bland. The mash potato is hot on one side and cold on the other. The meat also has no flavour. The weirdest part is thatit has a funky smell. It?s obvious that it?s microwaved, which is kind of unfortunate considering the price range. 3 star atbest cause the decor and service is actually pretty good. Fantastic service, super neat, tidy and clean, excellent management. Even thoughtful enough to send me on my long road trip with... a coffee to go. This was tied for the best service we got in 5500km of road trip. WELL DONE. Read more
