Reviews for Michael's Restaurant in Highland, IL
Service was fine, no complaints there. They even had some local musicians playing while we were eating. The food, however, was... not at all worth the hefty price tag. Almost 30 bucks for rice, peppers, and onions with a few pieces of the strangest-tastingbeef I've ever had. The vegetable/beef soup that came with it was pretty good, but that didn't redeem the main course. Best Ican say is 'meh' for the food. Read more
Love Wednesday martinis 1/2 price. Salads are fantastic, wings are yummy
Whenever I am home visiting family I stop by Michael's every morning for coffee. They take great care here to create a 'coffee... house' type atmosphere and the baristas are really top notch. What I especially appreciate is that they make an effort to bringin a local flair, such as locally produced snacks and community advertisements. Read more

We frequent this establishment on a somewhat regular basis on Wednesday nights for the weekly Corvette club get together. Our... server this time was Susie, and she did a great job. We ordered the 2 for 50.00 dinner special my steak was pretty decentalbeit a little too done for medium rare and had a couple places of heavy scorch. French fries were served cold and tasted likethe grease was almost rancid. The shared appetizer, my mates salad and dessert were all just o.k., my soup was terribly salty. My mates spaghetti and meatballs were terrible. The noodles were dried out and crunchy, the sauce was nothing special withmeatballs that had a freezer burnt taste to them. Read more
Some of the friendliest staff I?ve encountered. Bruschetta is amazing. A little pricey, but the food really is worth it
Pros: - Steak was cooked well, and tasted good. - Everyone that interacted with us was incredibly nice. Cons: - Several parts... of the meal were either stale or had gone bad. - Priced way too high for the quality of the food. - Needs general repairs andupkeep - not a very aesthetic place to eat or drink. Made reservations for dinner on a Thursday evening. This was not needed. Not a full house by any means. Our waiter seemed a bit... short with us prehaps he was waiting on all tables. We wanted the Kendall Jackson Chardonnay but they were out. Asked for arecommendation for a comparable wine. Hmm ..seemed not to knowledgeable on wines. Had to ask him to ask bartender to offer asuggestion. Veal piccata was superb but the marinara sauce was not even jar grade. Read more
