I dont know how they do it! How does such a restaurant (small, cozy) have such a chef that creates such wonderful dishes?... Everything was wonderful (small birthday party) The service was so good we thought the waiter was the owner (he isnt): attentiveto detail, caring and well integrated service team. This place feels like a home! John and Kendall and the rest of the team make this such a welcoming and enjoyable place to dine... that you forget that you are in a public restaurant and not in your family?s dining room. If you want amazing food in a relaxing atmosphere with excellent service ...this is the place. We arrived after a late afternoon... at Sandy Hook. We were their last diners and they treated us as we were their first. No rush...just easy. We shared a zucchiniblossom appetizer and a half order of the mushroom pasta. Husband had the swordfish and I had the scallops. Seriously perfectlycooked and presented. Too full for dessert but even though they were closing they happily asked us if we were interested. We had an excellent dining experience last night . Food and service were top notch. John and Kate's service was above and... beyond. Pasta dishes were fresh with generous portions. Attended a communion celebration at this little restaurant tucked away on Bay Avenue in scenic Highlands. Was a lovely day, we... were greeted by our waitress Vendal who helped us with decorating and getting everything set up. She took care of our everyneed through out the afternoon, making sure we had plenty of everything. She kept the buffet flowing and refreshed. We startedout with antipasto accompanied by wonderful warm tasty bites of crusty garlic bread. Followed by a buffet of Garden salad,Quiche Lorraine, French toast, Chicken Franchise, Fettuccine Pomadoro, and fresh fruit salad!! Ended by salted caramel cake,coffee and tea for dessert! A lovely afternoon with family and friends filled with a nice atmosphere and wonderful food. Amust to stop by and eat if you're ever in the area! Thank you Porcini!????????? Read more

GEM IN HIGHLANDS! I absolutely LOVE Porcini! I found this restaurant a little over two years ago, and I been dining here every... week ever since! This restaurant isn?t around the corner from me either! It?s around a 40 minute drive from my house, butthe food is OUTSTANDING! I look forward to going week after week! Chef Chris who is the owner of this restaurant received anaward for top rising chef in NJ! He makes everything from scratch from pastas, gelato, and house made desserts. All the foodhere is EXCELLENT! If I were to pick my favorite dishes I?d say my top picks are the veal over polenta, the crab cakes, filetmignon in a bernaise sauce, the herb encrusted cod in lemon garlic butter sauce, the New Zealand rack of lamb, the bronzeencrusted swordfish over orzo, and the scallops! Ok I know I named a lot, but they are all just so good! You can?t leave herewithout ordering the cheesecake of the day either! It?s AMAZING! Some of my favorites are the s?mores cheesecake, peanutbutter cheesecake, and the white chocolate caramel cheesecake! My favorite gelato flavors here are the cookies and cream andthe Heath Bar crunch! He also makes the best chocolate cake I ever had anywhere! He sometimes has it as a special, and if hedoes order it! I love the chocolate cake topped with chocolate ganache stuffed with peanut butter mousse! I still wish hewould add a chocolate cake of the day to the dessert menu! The service here is excellent, and they are very accommodating! Aslong as he has the ingredients on hand he can make it for you! Portions here are generous as well.
