Traveling Blue Parkway, stopped here for a bite. Wife and I both had the Tex Mex chicken burrito. It was AWSOME!!! The first... bite you could taste that the chicken, onions and green peppers, tomatoes had all been grilled to perfection! Wish we had one inour hometown! Read more

Place was clean but gnats were flying around our plates. Also they wouldn't substitute guacamole salad for rice. Never been to a... Mexican restaurant that wouldn't. If I wanted guacamole salad I had to pay $3.50 more on top of $13.99 instead of them subbingit for the rice. I could have chosen to walk out and not spend any money there. Or I could have not spent the $13.99 on my meal.Seriously cheap when you can't sub a handful of lettuce and a dolop of guacamole for rice. Some people want to stay away fromthe carbs. I probably won't be back. No napkins on the table or salt and pepper. Read more

Good portions, and good food but service was not good. The server didn't even presented himself. He was more concerned about... other people than us. I couldn't believe that a Mexican restaurant didn't have any limes... 30 minutes waiting for the foodwasn't good neither. Besides that a decent Mexican restaurant. Read more

I usually absolutely LOVE this place and have been eating here for 15 plus years, sometimes on a weekly basis and NEVER have I... had the kind of horrible service that we had this afternoon. Waitress was extremely unfriendly, and let our drinks sit emptyfor 15-20 mins while she waited on tables all around us then went over and hyena laughed with some drunk customers at the barbefore FINALLY getting us to go drinks and the check. One meal was ordered with no beans and extra rice, she came out carryingthe standard meal and another plate of beans and rice and although her mistake was mentioned, still charged the extra $8 for theplate of extra (unwanted) food. This was my second visit to Rio Grande. I love the Street Tacos here, but this time I wanted seafood. So I ordered the Mariscos... Fundidos, shrimp and bacon in a creamy Chipotle sauce, and it was delicious. Service was great, the drinks were good, and theprices were reasonable. Read more

Our trip to Rio Grande was nothing spectacular. The food was delicious, but the service was slow. The ambience what?s the... typical American Mexican restaurant. My wife ordered shrimp tacos. She love them. She gives them a five out of five. I orderedthe Cazuelón with flour tortillas. It was phenomenal. Read more

Great food, decent service and excellent Texas margaritas. This place is at the end of the shopping strip center, and is... festive inside - they are busy on Friday evenings Read more

The draft Dos Equis XX and margaritas on the rocks were solid. As for the food, it was ok. Nice sized portions on the... enchilada and tamale dinner with beans and rice. Same with the chicken enchiladas dinner. The red sauce was confusing. Unlikeany enchilada sauce I have had before. A little off-tasting, almost like plain canned tomato sauce. Bland, uninterestingflavors that did not seem to have been marinated together. The dinners were not bad. Just ok. Tortilla chips definitely nothome made, salsa had a slight kick of picante. The service was a little slow from what we are used to in big cities. But hey,it's in Hillsville, VA. We need to slow the pace down a bit. Nice clean restaurant that had a great din of happy diners.
