Tina's Garden Café is a small restaurant located in the heart of downtown Hilo. The restaurant serves a curry that contains an... entire avocado the size of a bombucha, as well as other locally sourced ingredients. These ingredients may include heart of palmcut like crinkle fries, kabocha, and fresh coconut pieces in a bright and herbal green curry shot through with turmeric, ginger,and lemongrass. The curry is more like a broth than a thick coconut milk gravy. Tina's Restaurant always serves extremelygenerous portions. I started with the Thai pizza and then moved on to the papaya salad. Even though the Thai pizza is enormous,I didn't find that it had enough flavor. On the other hand, the papaya salad is incredibly delicious. I've sampled both foodswith a low and a medium level of heat. My personal preference is for a medium level of heat, but either one is an excellentchoice if you're looking for something less fiery. Not gonna leave a bad star review since I love this place but last time I went (around a week ago) it wasn't the best. Ordered... an iced coffee, the girl gave me a thai tea on accident so I asked for an iced coffee and she made one and gave it to me butboth of them were so sweet it was literally inedible, especially the iced coffee. I had to pour both of them out later. Ive hadboth thai tea and vietmanese ice coffee many times in my life so I know that they're usually pretty sweet but this wasimpossible to consume. Weird experience, she wasn't very courteous, would not order a drink from there, from that girl, againbut love this place. Read more
"Famous" Thai pizza is a quesadilla stuffed with pumpkin (including big seeds). Two portions of pizza split across 2 boxes had 6... pieces of shrimp total. Unable to finish due to disgustingness. Read more

Favorite Thai food on island (actually favorite Thai food ever, period). Best papaya salad I've ever had, garden curry and Thai... spaghetti are a couple of my favorites. Tina's is an excellent place for vegetarians and offers healthy while incredibly flavorful dishes. I especially like the... organic wrap. It has a sweet peanut sauce and is convenient to eat. The heart of palm salad is really unique and has a nicecombination of celery and peanuts. Read more
