We ordered our Thanksgiving dinner and it was exceptional. Five adults all agreed that the turkey was so juicy and flavorful.... The smashed potatoes and stuffing were also perfect! Very disappointed as this was our first visit when we arrived in Hilton Head and it was in walking distance to our condo. It was... not busy and we sat ourselves and had to find the menus and also prepped our own table with utensils. We sat awaiting servicefor over 15 minutes and then left. Worst dinning experience we have ever had on the island. Was expecting great bbq and atmosphere for a upscale golf club. There... were several items not available such as ribs, pizza do to some machine that was broken. So there was a limited menu. Also afterwe had ordered we were informed because of computer issues it would be cash only. The quality of the pulled pork which for somereason they could make was less than mediocre. This was a good casual restaurant. We showed up late with the kids 8;30pm restaurant closes at 9pm. Service was still good and... they did not rush us. This is inside of a golf course clubhouse fyi. Big Jim's is great for a casual meal. The scenery is beautiful, overlooking the 18th hole of the lovely golf course, with... outdoor and indoor seating. It's a great dining option for those staying in Palmetto Dunes - very walkable - and is open toanyone as it is located before the gates. Recommend the patty melt, BLT, pizzas. Simple but good breakfast options, and theygenerally don't seem to be crowded for breakfast like many restaurants on the island. The only minor areas of opportunity: could use a more extensive/better draught beer selection, and like many restaurants currently, could use more wait staff andprobably kitchen staff, so the service is a slow.
