The Dunes House is our favorite family friendly restaurant in Hilton Head. We ate there 4 times during our one week stay. The... location is incredible being directly on the beach and the food and service is amazing! The food and service kept us coming backbecause many of the other places we tried on the island had terrible food and service (especially the places belonging to alarge restaurant group). They brought our kids little cups of goldfish when we were seated which is such a nice touch for hungrykids. You must try The Dunes House Burger made with local pimento cheese. The fish tacos are also delicious- some of the bestI?ve ever had. We can?t wait to eat there again on our next vacation! Read more

This restaurant is in a convenient location and has great frozen drinks! Mike the bartender and Rennae the server were great.... Unfortunately, the host who also happened to be the manager, made the experience here unpleasant. Maybe it was an off day forTim but he was unnecessarily rude to our entire group. We come here annually for a big family reunion and will not return aslong as Tim is there. Tourists are the reason this place is in business. Be nice to them! Especially ones that are nice to you! We love coming to the Dunes House every year when we come down to HHI. Food is always excellent, drinks are cold and refreshing... with a nice selection of frozen drinks and other cocktails. Staff is friendly and accommodating. It?s always clean and tidy. Weleave our chairs and stuff on the beach while we go and eat, then go back and hang out on the beach some more! Read more

Great little quick bites and cocktails right on the beach. Fish tacos were decent. Greek Salad was very very good. Five stars... for the yummy skinny colada, wine to go and extra relaxing near the beach. We arrived right when they opened and easily found aseat on the patio but it fills up quickly. Seat yourself style. There is also a nice shaded bar if you need to escape the beachfor a bit. Very nice staff. Read more
Disappointed. Arrived around 5:30pm yesterday. Food was good, service was good. But server was not pleased when we ask the... server to split the check in two (just two). I was not advised that they add a gratuity to the bill at 18%. Not until Iarrived home did I notice this as the gratuity line is up with the food, not down near the subtotal, tax and grand total. Ileft another 20% - so in all the server received 38%. Now the fun begins. Cannot get anyone to answer their phone. I calledmain desk at Palmetto Dunes too and they advised it's a recording, and they can't get anyone to pick up phone as well. I knowthat!!! HONEST SERVERS WOULD HAVE ADVISE THE gratuity was included. Not happy. Read more
