This corner bakery used to be the place in town where everyone would go and have a good bite. But in the past year or 2 the food... quality has just simply diminished. The Sweets are simply not as quality, I think they may have switched their food suppliers.Main courses are sloppy just simply not the quality they used to be. The workers are always great otherwise. Went for lunch again and was disappointed yet again. I waited until I ate here a few times before reviewing, as I believe no... one should leave a negative mark based on a single experience. Chicken Pomodori sandwich came with chicken and basil only, kidsmeal came with sandwich only (no milk, carrots, and fruit as ordered), soup was cold (but tasty). We had the most disappointing encounter at this location this evening. The staff was incredibly rude from the start. Half of the... restaurant had the chairs up on the tables and other half was full of dirty tables with garbage still on them. When we asked ifwe could either take some chairs down or have a table cleaned, the staff acted as if this was a crazy request. There was justone other couple sitting down, but it took forever for our food to arrive and when it did, I was appalled. Below is a picture ofthe pasta that my daughter was served. This is not the usual portion size or presentation that we usually receive at a CornerBakery. Additionally, the soup that they brought me was just slopped into a cup. They didn't even take the time to wipe the cupoff. The food was warm at best. My daughter, who was excited to have a Mom/Daughter dinner, was so disappointed, as was I. Very conveniently located downtown Hinsdale near the train station. I've been spending a fair amount of time at spot between... visits of a loved one at Hinsdale Hospital. The employees are always friendly and helpful. The food, especially the soups, aremore than acceptable. Read more
Convenient place to catch up in town with friends for a quick bite. Teenage hangout too.
