I can’t say enough great things about this hotel. I just stayed here the last two nights for my best friends wedding and it... was a very busy weekend but this hotel was so nice to come back to and sleep and eat! The owner of the inn and all of the staffwe encountered were amazing. I also come from the hospitality industry so I truly appreciated everything they did for us as wewere kind of a needy group. The rooms are beautiful, the breakfast was amazing (especially the home fries!), the shower waterpressure is phenomenal and the pool is also so nice if you have time to use it during your stay. I’m sad I have to go hometoday but looking forward to one more breakfast in bed :) Thank you for a great stay! Read more

Just got back from a weekend stay at the Manor, and we had a very mixed experience. First, the great stuff: the staff was top... notch, consistently friendly and helpful, going above and beyond whenever they could. The room was very comfortable, clean, andcute. Beautiful view of the water, even though the hotel is not right on it. Afternoon tea and evening cookies are a nicetouch. The downsides: The onsite dining is underwhelming, to say the least. Breakfast foods were hit or miss, and dinner wasexpensive and not very good. Only exception was the specials, so if you need to eat there, I would recommend sticking to those, probably because those ingredients are most likely to be fresh and tasty. The rest was pretty universally disappointing. Thepool needed to be cleaned more often. And perhaps most importantly, the building is not handicapped accessible at all. There aresteps just to get into the front entrance, and a flight of steps up to most of the rooms, with no elevator. Bottom line, if theroom and service are most important to you, you can certainly enjoy your stay there. I would just recommend eating elsewhere. Read more

The Manor on Golden Pond BACKED OUT of our wedding!!! After the we paid for all the invitations. Not only did it take the owner... Brian a week at a time to respond, he cancelled the wedding BY A VOICEMAIL. Completely UNPROFESSIONAL!! Weddings should be acelebration of love. Thanks to Brian, the owner at The Manor on Golden Pond, we are far from celebrating. Read more

Backed out of hosting our wedding!! AWFUL!! Brian, the owner, agreed that he would host our small (17 guests including us)... wedding, all we asked was to have a 30 minute ceremony in the (beautiful) lobby in front of the fireplace and to have ahorseshoe table set up for dinner. Any questions we had would take him over a week to respond with us having to call and/oremail a time or two for prompting. This last question was if he could provide some recommendations for limo/photo as I washaving difficulty securing something and am not familiar with the area. He did not respond for a week and when he did respond,he left me a voicemail stating that he can’t accommodate our wedding. WEEKS LATER! We created the invites already (who wouldhave known this place was so unprofessional). He is incredibly unorganized and apparently will not offer the warm, timelysupport for couples who are planning their own wedding (which is stressful enough). Weddings are supposed to be a beautifulevent, do not let this place ruin yours. Read more

We decided to stay at the Manor due to our usual inn being fully occupied. Brian and Maryellen, along with their impeccably... professional staff, treated us very well, from the fabulous breakfasts at the beginning of the day, to the gourmet dinnersunder a cascading sunset. We love Holderness and will return every year, and now we will only stay at THE MANOR ON GOLDEN POND. Read more

I arrived at the Manor and was immediately taken back by the view and splendor of the Grand entrance. Inside the House is a... marvel of comfortable sitting areas, and refined finished wood work. But what puts my experience over the top is the warm andwelcome service. My daughter was also coming to the Manor in her car from NYC. On the way up the muffler detached from the tailpipe! She arrived in a frantic panic after listening to the rattle and rumble for hours. I asked the Inn Keeper Brian for someadvice and to my amazement he replied by saying let me have a look...I think we can take care of it. To say I was surprisedwould be an understatement. Not only did he take care of it.... he was so accommodating that our weekend at Squam Lake wasn'teven interrupted !! I am for ever thankful, loved my room and can't wait to come back!! Read more

Beautiful, upscale inn located near Squam lake. Special added touches is what made our stay amazing. Gourmet breakfast (eggs... Benedict were awesome). Exquisite woodwork and craftsmanship ship throughout! We stayed in the Norfolk with all the amenities:private deck with views of lake and mountains, private jacuzzi, and fireplace. We were treated like royalty. Service was an A+from our host, our waitress and the owner, Brian! Read more
