Great location in downtown Holland, serving up a variety of foods I wouldn't expect of a restaurant named for beer. Every kind... of restaurant that has hops in the name that I've been to typically serves similar items: beer and burgers. I was pleasantlysurprised to find more. It looks like occasionally, they have ramen, and when we went, my husband had wagyu steak and fries.Unfortunately, underwhelming. Hubby was disappointed with the lack of flavor from a cut of meat we've been spoiled as beingespecially delicious. For my 2-year-old, we ordered her a steak and fries. She wasn't particularly interested, but we chalkedit up to a long day. I was still satisfied with the serving size; a happy amount to eat for later. I had more luck with mybrisket hash. I'm not typically a brisket girl, but the way they cooked this had lots of great flavor throughout the cut. It wassurprisingly delicious! Would definitely order it again. Read more

Conveniently located in downtown Holland, this place is always busy. We enjoyed a delicious lunch, with brisket and wood fire... pizza being the highlight. My husband opted for brisket tacos, I got the brisket sandwich and the boys ordered pizzas.Everything was delicious, with my youngest saying it was his favorite meal of the trip! As a bonus, they are right next door tothe visitor center, so you can plan out your next adventures after lunch! Down the street is a life size chess set, a perfectafter meal activity for the family. If that's not your speed, the shopping is expansive. Read more

I can’t stop thinking about this amazing meal I enjoyed at Hops at 84 a few months ago and I finally decided to write about... it! I ordered the Cioppino and it was so delicious, flavorful, and seasoned to perfection. Everything in it was tender and sofresh! Shrimp, bay scallops, cod, braised tomato, leeks, fennel, clam court bouillon, grilled lemon, and toast. (Available withGluten Free toast.)That grilled sourdough toast with it was the perfect vehicle for soaking up all the broth!! I can’t wait togo back and have it again. Read more

I really enjoyed the atmosphere. Very social place, even for a Monday. The Ludington Wheat was very refreshing. The burger... sounded awesome. It was great, but seemed like the first half wasn't as seasoned. The second half was. Not sure how thathappened. Loved the texture and the snap of the pickled shallots. Fresh cut fries were a great add to the meal too. Definitelywill go back and try some of the other delicious sounding foods. Read more

OMG we loved this place. I was by far one of our favorites to go to. The food was amazing, the drinks were amazing. I got the... chicken and grits. It was so flavorful and just melted in my mouth. It was the first time I ever had grits and now the bar isset pretty high! I also got the mimosa flight which was really good too. My husband got the corned beef hash. His only complaintwas that the 2 eggs were not over easy but more like medium (yolk was almost all the way cooked) but otherwise he very muchenjoyed it. I highly recommend this place. Read more

Started with the pretzels and beer cheese which had good flavor. Sometimes beer cheese looses it's beer taste but not this.... Pretzels were soft and fresh! I had the Cioppino which was excellent! Never had it before until now. It's like a fish stew withmussels, classic, shrimp, etc. Had to wait quite long for a Saturday night table but used the Google feature to "get in line".Worth the wait. My husband and I ate here for lunch on a Sunday afternoon and there was plenty of seating at the bar. We split the sticky... Chicken wrap and substituted for fries and it was delicious! Other service at the bar was great and the bartenders knew whatthey were doing. The atmosphere was happy and lively. Their beer and liquor selections are amazing! Highly recommend! I had ablack and tan and a Manhattan with Bullet rye. My husband had the Founders Reds Rye. Highly recommend! Read more
