It's a little narrow restaurant in downtown Hollywood. It has been around for years. It makes mostly pizzas. The pizzas are big... and they taste good. You get your money's worth here. They make one of my favorite pizzas around. the crust is good and thecheesy mixture is excellent. It is a hit-or-miss place but when it's good is good even cold. Inside is small. It has a sittingarea around the wall. They did have some tables outside. I normally buy the pizza by the slice. It is my place to stop by when Iam in downtown Hollywood. My son and I stopped in for a quick bite during one of the car shows and I'm telling you now - They make a great pizza! This is... pretty authentic New York style pizza and the slices were huge. You can fold it (as I prefer to) or eat it with a fork, even.The crust is thin & crispy and flaked when I folded it. The sauce to cheese ratio was almost perfect. You may initially pause atthe price, but as you can see in my photo - they're worth it! We probably waited around 8-10 minutes, but there were a number oforders ahead of ours and they do a great job getting the orders out the door. Don't be fooled by the New York City skyline window wrap it's nowhere near New York Pizza, and the service is not much better I... asked for crispy bottom because they usually serve it's soggy. The guy even threatened me and said if I wanted it extra welldone well it was extra soggy again two thumbs down. On top of that they're charging a dollar extra than anywhere else inHollywood and they're charging a dollar for parmesan condiment. Ordered an XL pizza at 7:30 pm and didn?t receive the pizza until 9:00 ice cold. We called to complain for them to try and give... us 3$ off for our ?next? order. Needless to say we told them to politely shove their 3$ where the sun doesn?t shine. Honestly40$ for this quality is just incredible. How disappointing. Will never recommend this restaurant smh. Wow! Looking for a quick lunch and saw "pizza by the slice". I was put-off by the $4.50 per slice until I saw that 2 slices took... up an entire pizza box! They were HUGE! I got cheese only and it came out fast and was delicious. Two thumbs up from me! Read more
I?ve been going to Mauros for years. This place has New York style pizza (I know because I used to live there) You can fold it... like a proper NY slice, or eat it with a fork and knife if you?re into that sort of thing. There are just a couple of tables toeat at outside, so I wouldn?t recommend taking a date here. It?s suited more for carry out or a quick lunch. It?s also open latenight and it?s absolutely the best ?after the bar? meal you are going to have in Hollywood. Disclaimer: I?m still gonna givethem five stars, even though the mushrooms are canned. I was walking downtown Hollywood and stopped by this pizza place not knowing whether the pizza was good or not. The slices... before 5 o?clock are only $4.75, & the slices after five are only $5.25. The slices are pretty big and they?re cooked prettyquick, also they?re cooked on a stone oven which makes it even better. I would definitely recommend the spot anyone who likesstone cooked pizza. Definitely one of the best pizza spots I?ve tried in Hollywood. PS They tie up their oregano in little bagslike your buying weed which makes 10X better. Read more
