Dee. Lish. Ish. Fantastic food, and brought out very quickly... Apparently it was slower than usual this Thursday afternoon and... the cooks were very ready for something to do. It was the best sesame chicken I've ever had, with flavorful sauce, well cookedrice, and I was very pleased to find that my chicken, though hastily cut and not completely separated in some places, was stillquite good. My husband got kung pao chicken, which seems to involve quite a bit spicy red pepper and possibly jalapenos? Therewere quite a few large cuts of green peppers that were, according to my husband, extremely spicy. The lights in the dining areaare very neat and give a good ambiance, though it may be a smidge dark in the evenings. I highly recommend you peruse the marketwhile you're here. There's a wide variety of interesting ramen flavors, different noodles, all kinds of spices, a giantselection of neat chopsticks, and a super-boss cookware section. Read more

They have a huge menu with a variety of meat options and vegetable options as well. Loved the Chicken with Garlic Sauce and the... Shrimp on rice cakes but the dumplings were bland and fried rice was mediocre. Definitely recommend anyone who loves Chinesecuisine to try this place and the store attached to it. The dishes were either a hit of miss in my opinion but the hits weregood We had to wait for 20 minutes for someone to come tend to us and get us started with some water which was a bitdisappointing but the place was packed as well so I give them the benefit of the doubt. I really like the fried... rice though I also had the fried while fish with hot and spicy sauce and it was excellent!! The restaurant and take-out werereally busy and for good reason- the food is great! The inside is decent though it needs to be updated and upgraded though I'llstill go back. The staff were helpful and very nice! Very good Chinese food in Birmingham! Read more

This place is always delicious. If you go during their peak hours, there can be a lengthy wait. On a Sunday afternoon, we waited... 40 minutes for a table and it was worth it. They are always quite knowledgeable and will explain the dishes and what they havein them. It's family style servings, so be prepared to share with others in your party. The beef tenderloin cooked in aszechuan sauce is amazing. The beef will melt in your mouth when you order this dish. And it contains radishes that are cookedjust perfectly and have a nice bite that isn't overpowering. All of their food is quality and the staff is kind and efficient.Don't miss this gem! Read more

I ordered shrimp fried rice and the shrimp was mushy as if someone chewed it before boxing it. I was so afraid to eat it, even... my children said mom this shrimp is weird. I will never eat here again. This is very poor quality food. Read more

I have made a few visits to Red Pearl, but I was inspired to write a review; because a local blog I follow wrote about another... Asian/Chinese Cuisine Restaurant being chosen as Alabama?s #1 place to eat. And my thoughts go. ?! A PLACE BETTER THAN REDPEARL!?? ? (I will investigate this further ! Fo?show) ???? AnyWho! In my quest for ?all things good? I ran across the 4.5??THE Red Pearl Restaurant (By the way? I am giving it 4 stars simply because it was not voted #1 and I want to give respect tothe Restaurant who will not be named) Red Pearl is the jewel of Homewood. From the unique way it sits off the main road, tothe popular and eclectic Asian market, to the delightful decorative restaurant inside. I love how spacious the booths are forfamilies or groups. The staff is helpful, pleasant, diverse, and are familiar with the menu. The meal comes to the table with alarge bowl of steam rice. And everything was hot and fresh. My favorites from the menu are: Appz: Pork Bun, The soups- All ofem?! Spring Rolls- no one can eat just one! Entree: Mongolian Beef, General Tso Chicken, Sesame Chicken, TeriyakiShrimp Chicken Fried Rice and the Vegetable Lo Mein Good Red Pinot too- great price for a bottle! The biggest disappointmentwas not enough wonton chips for the soup! Also a favorite of mine is the fact that they don?t grab a handful of the fortunecookies and place them on the table- the precise amount is passed out keeping the tradition of the cookie going. This restaurantdoes not disappoint do yourself a favor and check it out for yourself. Read more
