I enjoyed a Happy Hour Pinot with the Ahi Poke Bowl - ample and delicious. As the crowd increased I marveled at the calm... interaction between the diminished-to-just-two staff members - who kept the vibe in the busy room relaxed and happy - despitethe large trays of drinks and food being distributed. As my peers joined me at the bar we ordered a beautiful Kalbi Beef platterto share. There are many eateries within walking distance from Executive Centre, but why go anywhere when you can dine in styleat Hukilau - just an elevator away from sleepy time. Read more

Even though the menu seems to go through another round of change and without Chef Takemura, the food is still good, with... gigantic salads and a good variety of Hawaiian food. Stuck to the salads. Had a unique ginger chicken salad, which was slicedcold chicken breasts on a bed of lettuce and vegetables topped with the cold ginger you see on cold ginger chicken. Unique andnot bad. Service is very good. Wierd thing is that they have these super-wide tables so you seem like you are sitting so faraway from your guests across from you. Check the chalkboard before you enter for the specials because you won't remember theserver going over each of them. Read more

Went here to see my friend's band play...great ambiance and vibe...the kalua pork sliders were great and the French fries were... excellent...right out of the fryer. I will be back!I also asked the server if she could turn off one of the lights because ofthe glare on the TV and she said okay, but never got to it. The server also said they accepted UH alumni discount but the otherserver said they didn't when it mattered--when it was time to pay. Read more

What a beautiful venue. A huge bar lots of seating and the food is to die for. Local style cuisine with a gourmet touch of... eloquence. All made from local produce grown right here in Hawaii. Favorites like poke, Rib eye, Luau Stew, my favorite kalbishort ribs with Kim chee fried rice. Fresh garden salads, and a huge bar ready to appease the happiest of drinkers and nonalcoholic beverages alike. Also another Hawaiian custom that is struggling to make a comeback is live music. Local Hawaiianfamilies have a knack for music, and what better than to add that to the other qualities of The Hukilau sports bar and grill. Onany given day you can catch the latest in up and coming local artist male or female. I know because I myself play and entertainevery Monday for happy hour. From 5 to 8. Read more

Great drinks and the friendliest people. Also, the Malasada a la mode is the best thing ever. It wasn't on the menu that I saw,... but I asked if they had dessert. Do yourself a favor and do the same. I was staying at the Aston, so this place was superconvenient, tasty, not tourist-over priced, and the folks here helped me out with questions about the area (where to eat, shop, etc.) all with great success. What more could you ask for? Read more
