The worst food I have encountered in 10 years. Won’t go into details, believe me, worse than bad truck diner slop on the... interstate/. The people managing this place haven’t a clue. Felt sorry for the innocent waitress though. Please, lookelsewhere there’s a lot of choice. I hope Panya goes out of business fast to spare us all the misery Read more

Nice newer restaurant in the rocking trendy area of the Ward area. Service was great, and the food was imaginative and well... executed. Tasty. The desserts looked and tasted marvelous. Couple of problems. We made reservations for a table on the lanai, but when we got there, we found that we had been preempted by the visit of a local celebrity. Second, I found a bit of steelwool in my dish. Our server responded appropriately, and it wasn't a big deal, but I'm hesitant to return. Read more

I've been going to Panya for many years and the food is consistent. You can always count on what the food will taste like. ... Unfortunately, like many businesses, they are short staffed. So be patient, everyone is trying their best. Read more

The world food tour continued …. At Panya Bistro in the Hokua condo. We stopped in for an early dinner after seeing Beautiful... at the Concert Hall (a bravura performance by the cast). We arrived early (4pm) so the restaurant was pretty empty but weretold by the hostess about their 90-minute time limit policy. Okay, better to tell us up front than during our meal. Service wasleisurely so that might have been somewhat of a concern but it worked out satisfactorily. We started with a couple of Hendricksgin and tonics with limes instead of the more proper slice of cucumber. A very refreshing beginning …though I wish bartenderswould note what garnish goes with certain gins. We ordered three dishes: Pork Chops over fried rice, Pad Thai with chicken andStir Fried Vegetables with Beef. First off, the pork chop dish is huge! Slices of breaded boneless chops are placed over asubtle fried rice (Chinese style … on the drier side) and covered with a very sweet tomato sauce. The texture and tastereminded me of waffles with maple syrup. It was very good but the sweetness of the tomato sauce was off-putting to me; not bad,but unexpected. The Pad Thai was fine; nothing to complain about. The highlight dish for me was the stir fried vegetables withbeef. The vegetables (broccoli, green beans, slices of carrot and mushroom) were crisp and the cubes of beef were very tender. The sauce was thin but savory; it let the beautiful vegetables take center stage. I could have just eaten this dish with a bowlof rice. No room for dessert but I finished my meal with a Thai iced coffee. The coffee was excellent and shone through thegenerous serving of milk. So cool and refreshing; I could have consumed two glasses. Final thoughts … we hadn’t been toPanya Bistro in a long time; the food was very good and the service was fine (we left after 93 minutes). Parking in the Hokua isconvenient and free with validation. Best of all, the prices were very reasonable. Read more

We had great drinks and Appitizers. We were at the bar so service was quick, but not overly friendly. Parking garages just... around the corner. Great desserts too.. outdoor seating and clean bathrooms. I go again, but maybe servers have a little moresmiles. Read more

Great place, need to train the staff to be more receptive though. Came 30 minutes early for reservation and they told me I... couldn't sit yet, came back 30 minutes later and sat at the exact same table that was open when I came first. The food wasexcellent however the server was also kind of impolite. Read more

Not your typical service but I got there 20 mins before my reservation so i could have a drink. I asked if i could sit at the... bar which she said was booked but said I could sit at my table. I waited 25 mins and not one server came to ask if i wanted adrink. Fat forward 30 mins when my entire party arrived I still had to ask who the server was. The manager came over to askabout drinks but didn’t get it right. I’ve been here a tons of times but man what a chore to get even a drink let along ourfinal bill was over $450. Not impressed on this trip and will have to think about coming back for a while. Read more
