What a pleasant surprise. We have lived in Traverse City for years & have driven by The Platte River Inn so many times... commenting that we need to eat there some day. Finally did it & can't wait to go back. We are previous restaurantowner/operators & tend to be very picky diners, always watching & waiting for something to go wrong. Never happened. The BLTwith home made fries, Chicken Parmesan with Garlic Bread (I got 4 meals out of 1 order) & the Perch Dinner along with generousdinner salads were more than we expected. Quite unbelievable how tasty & fresh the food was as well as the heaping portions. Ontop of the awesome food we were quite surprised at how terrific our server, Ashley was. She was attentive without beingoverpowering & she knew what we needed before we had to ask. She was sooooooo busy, bartending, serving, bussing etc. She wasthe only one we saw working in the bar section of the restaurant. Always had a smile & seemed to genuinely care about hercustomers. The service was excellent. The restaurant is clean, lovely and there is plenty of space between tables. We arrived when they... opened for breakfast and within 15 minutes, the place was nearly full. We both enjoyed our food. The portions are plentiful andeverything was cooked exactly how we like it. The hasbrowns were crisp and my over medium eggs were perfect with solid whitesand lovely runny yolk. My husband's scrambled eggs were very fluffy. My husband's food was hot. Mine was cold. I paid 12.95 before taxes for this meal. Then the waitress was not rude but not very... helpful. I work in hospitality. I understand over stress and such. But cold food which you can see is cold. I took this pic notmore then 2 minutes after i got it. Plus the table that came after us got there order taken 1st.
