Donuts were just ok. My expectations were higher given the reviews. Coffee was worst I've had and I'm not picky with coffee.... Probably had been sitting for hours since we got there later in day. Used the restroom only to be harassed when I came outsaying they weren't public and don't use them next time. No need to worry, won't be a next time. Read more
When the pandemic hit, I was told my favorite breakfast in Birmingham - Shipley's Sausage, Cheese and Jalapeno Kolache - was... going to be a little different because of disruptions in the pork processing business. Two and a half years later, they arestill using what tastes like a cheap hot dog and calling it Sausage. I keep going by every month hoping they will change back,but no such luck. I'm not a donut person, so I'm still looking for a new favorite breakfast in Birmingham. Read more
I moved from Houston, Texas, where Shipley Do-Nuts is very popular: there is one in every corner? it has been my favorite... doughnut place! I was super excited to find it here in Hoover. The quality of the food is as good as it is in Texas, but theirschedule is not. They were closed the fist time I went (I learned that they don?t open on Mondays) and the second time I gotthere at 2:01pm, and they were closing ???? (they close at 2:00). Very disappointing when you wish to have fresh doughnuts witha cup of coffee in the afternoon. Both times I ended up going to Krispy Kreme (around the corner). Read more

Unreal selection of fresh donuts! We were in Birmingham for 3 days and got Shipleys all 3 mornings for breakfast. It?s that... good! The coffee is excellent as well. Oh and we even got a dozen for the trip back home! Read more
