Got a large extra garlic pizza. It was perfect. Everyone working looked happy New owners are doing a great job.
Not easily handicapped accessible would be the only neg. Food was great. Staff was courteous and helpful. Great selections on... menu. Prices are very reasonable. Definitely recommend as a choice for dining in or take out. Fish and chips was awesome. Pizzawas great. Read more
So I originally made this 5 star review 3 years ago, so I guess 2019... a lot has changed since then and I would like to... update. I have lived in Hopkinton since 2008 when I started high school. I worked at Dimitri's (for those who are new, that wasthe name of it before the sale 2022) for a little while during that time. I am familiar with the Dimitri family as well as mostfolk from town. I have not had a bad experience this far. I don't eat a bunch of food there but it's so easy to grab somepizza or subs ! Since it's been about 14 years, I have ordered there a lot, and I have gotten to see the general experience andI have to say it's been good. Like really good. I am now so accustomed to their pizzas, I have developed an idea that otherpizzas all over are bad. But that's just me anyway. I don't delve too far into the menu since I am set In my ways when itcomes to trying different food items . I know for a fact that the pizza, Italian and steak bomb/ steak tip subs andamazing. In early 2022 Dimitri and family sold the business to a set of local boys ( brothers ) Steve and Dan Lux. Both ofthese young men have very good Rapport with the community. Many were worried that filling the old shoes my be a tough feat! Thetwo were very level headed and realistic about the route they planned to take the local pizza shop moving into the future. They have elected to not change much at all since after all, Dimitri's pizza was a fantastic success. They kept any staff whochose to stay, and also kept Dimitri, Yanni and Theo on for the past 6 months to help with the transition and to make sure thenew guys knew exactly how things were done to the original and long since proven standard. They have added more beer to the menuwhich isn't a bad thing at all! They have done some updating inside in attempt to personalize it to the new ownership. Pasta was over cooked and the sauce was watery. Pizza was ok, probably a 6.5/10. Mac & cheese bites were not as good as they are... in other places. French fries were good. Employees were friendly and professional. Read more
The steak bombs are not the same. All of the ingredients are there but something is different. It tastes dry, they never put... enough Mayo on it and the cheese is at the bottom. I would recommend putting it ontop so we can actually taste the cheese andmaybe toast it a lil bit to melt it. 2nd SB I was not satisfied with. Also new owners are not as friendly not rude but notfriendly. Before my card was done processing owner ?left? to grab the next guys order (didn?t say anything to me) and startedhelping him and didn?t even say to me have a nice day or thank you it was very unpleasant and awkward. Ever since we moved out here it has been hard to live without Dimitri's/Riverside (recently changed names due to new ownership).... Since the change, they have seemed to do justice to the original restaurant by updating systems, adding outdoor seating, andincluding a few new items. They have become an incredibly reliable restaurant in an area that doesn't have much otherwise.They've always made things well and on-time, which we very much appreciate. The old restaurant had delivery before the pandemicso I would love to see that brought back someday, but there is no reason to fault the new owners for that. This pizza place was alright. It?s a little far from the Highway since you need to down from it. We ordered their Meat Lovers... pizza and it was good. The cheese and meats were loose and the cheese as well. The dough was alright and crunchy as well. Theirwashroom was clean and everything else was clean. They had 4 employees in the back. One issue was when we payed the pizza theemployee gave us the wrong cash back when we payed. So we told her we were short on change and she gave us the correct changeback. It?s a decent restaurant and the employees there were polite and kind. A would recommend. Read more
My husband and I really wanted to love this place because it's so close to home and of course relish the opportunity to support... local businesses, but the par-baked pre-formed pizza dough although fresh (not frozen) doesn't have good flavor, texture, orappearance. It's pre-fabed shape without natural form or bubbles is a dead giveaway, and first bite exposes its spongy texture. Lastly, the oil used on its bottom to cook it leaves the crust oily and closer to a fried dough type of outcome rather than thecornmeal bottom indicative of pizza as we think of freshly made pizza. They do the best they can with the tomato sauce but wantto appeal to a wide audience certainly so it lacks distinctive seasoning. The cheese has reasonably good mozzarella flavor butcooks-up kind of dry and chewy. The staff is very friendly and attentive, and the interior is generally clean which isextremely important, so thank you for that. Some furniture and parts of the building are pretty old and appear worn and shabbyand avoid sitting in the back near the kitchen if you dine-in since you'll occasionally be confronted with the odor of bleachwhich'll reduce your level of enjoyment considerably. The outside seating area is probably its best attribute and guests cansit there at night since there's some atmospheric lighting as well. Best of luck to its new owners, but we certainly would loveif they'd consider the possibility of using freshly made pizza dough. They could cut-costs as well if they used metal pizzapans instead of carboard take-out containers for dining-in. Making changes in a small operation is difficult so I don't expectmiracles but we can encourage and hope. Read more
