Tasty food in a no nonsense setting. Good service and large helpings and at a reasonable price. Onion rings are thick and... fresh. Gravy was just right with right amount of spice. Burger with bun was loaded with onions and mushrooms. Cooked correctlyand not dry. Excellent mashed potatoes. No meat in green beans (did not need any) and they were spiced perfectly. We arrivednear the end of the lunch time and was just starting to clear out. Probably a wait during peak hours. Only about 4-5 minutesoff I-65. Worth a return visit when I am in the area. Read more

Jodi was amazing. She was super slammed and on the ball. Took a bit to get our food but this place was jumpin...and for good... reason. The food is DELICIOUS!!! After seeing all the food going out on plates it was very difficult to choose which item toorder. If we're ever back in town we will stop in for sure. Read more

After seeing that the 5-Broke Girls restaurant has recently been recognized in the Kentucky Living magazine for the ?Best Burger... ? in Kentucky. We had to make the trip to investigate. And I will have to admit that the Hart Burger was very good and quitelarge as well. It was a very solid meal. The staff was friendly and they were attentive to the patrons. Not to mention that 3 ofus ate for less than 35 dollars. Overall it was a good experience. As for being the best burger in the Bluegrass, I?m not sosure. But I would definitely eat there again. I do recommend but I cannot give 5-stars. No complaints but definitely not a5-star restaurant in my opinion. Read more

My experience was more of a three star, but I went at a really busy time and the servers were exhausted from the rush. We waited... 90 minutes for our food, but it was very tasty! I'm sure when it's not too crazy there it would be 4 or 5 stars for sure. Ourserver was the sweetest as well. Read more

One word ... DELICIOUS! The fried mushrooms are HUGE and super tasty! The chicken fried steak is on point. The hamburger... steak is awesome. The onion rings are super crispy and clearly hand battered. This place is a MUST for Horse Cave,Kentucky! Due to my health, I don't eat at restaurants indoors. While they don't usually have outdoor dining, they pulled atable and chairs out on the porch for us. The owners are SUPER welcoming. Read more

Small town Texas vibe with great food, and I'm not just saying that because I'm from Texas. I had the A-1 brisket burger that... was cooked perfect with some amazing onion rings on the side. My husband had some excellent chicken fried chicken, smashedpotatoes and more great onion rings. We will definitely be back and I'd seriously recommend stopping in to eat or taking a tripfor a really good meal. Read more

Hubs has been working in Kentucky since October and until today I have been disappointed in the local restaurants. I expected... much more home cooking mom & pop diners. We visited Kentucky Down Under and intended to eat at the Dutch restaurant in the sameparking area but passed this little gem on the way and decided to give it a try. GOOD call! This place worked on redeeming theKentucky food scene for me. MUCH better than a Food Network Triple D Louisville restaurant we visited. While it was a littlewarm in the building, the food was so yummy and def worth the stop! We ordered a ham and cheese melt, Mac n cheese, chickenfriend chicken and hamburger steak with green beans and fried okra. Everything was cooked and seasoned perfectly according to mysouthern roots. The service was attentive and food came out fairly quickly. The signs says southern food with a Texas kick andthey absolutely nailed it! Read more

This was the PERFECT little place to hit after a long day of hiking and caves. The staff here are family and super cool and... have a vested interest in the success of their restaurant. I think we met 3/5 of the "Broke Girls". I had the Schnitzel, something I was surprised to see in a Texas themed joint and it was great. We also had the double decker burger and the Texassized country fried steak. Portions are huge and the food is done just right. Read more
