I have been going to kilkare for years and always amazing food until today I got a 3 piece fish dinner with a Baked potato and... coleslaw. I took out coleslaw from container, put all on plate took a bite of coleslaw and literally puked it was so spoiled .So I called up there and talked to the NOT so nice Renee and all she had to say is we realized after your order that coleslawwas bad,so what you want me to do about it? Im sorry it ruined the rest of your food in such a cocky way I couldn't believe it.I said credit my meal for a next time (if there is a next time) my goodness it cost 21$ and left a tip at least be nice ????that don't cost u anything.......UPDATE.......owner called first thing and made it 100% right that means alot and thank you forthat.???? Quiet different and cozy. We enjoyed ourselves. Our hosts and waitresses were kind and friendly. Cabin setting with tables and... chairs. Food was great and so was the companionship. Read more
Been going to this restaurant for several years..worst service ever even on their busier nights never treated so horribly as I... was tonight. Ordered potatoe soup and loaded waffle fries husband ordered 10 mild wings and sampler platter. Took a while toget the soup no crackers then about 45 minutes later she bri gs the sampler platter and say I don't know if this is anappetizer and turns and walks away. Then we finally get the rest and she said I didn't look like I wanted to eat I told her noI wasn't happy and told sher why she said I'm not the cook. I heard so many good things about this place so I drove by a waving hot dog and stopped here instead. I was a little surprised... that it was half bar but the menu also said lounge (must have missed that on the big sign). was feeling like breakfast, butfound out they do not serve breakfast items. Makes sense for a bar lounge. I got over myself and realized if I was in the rightmood, they serve good country food like ribs, pulled pork sandwiches, and perch. I ordered the boneless wings basket with mildsauce. The smell made me worry that they would be hot, but they were actually perfect, not hot but not sweet. My only complaintis the actual basket it was served it. The sauce made the paper rip which got sauce all over the table, all over the check, andthe check holder. Typical Northern Michigan restaurant / bar but that may have been the best Reuben sandwich I've ever had. I believe they chopped... up all the corned beef, cheese, sauerkraut and thousand island dressing into a hash on the grilltop, then put all that on themarble rye bread. Wow. I have mixed reviews for this place and it was my first visit. I will definitely go back but will not be ordering same for... entree. Nice, clean restaurant, with interesting fun decor. Easy going, friendly and helpful staff. Easy to maneuver if inwheelchair or walker - restrooms included. (Deserves 5 ???? for that rarity alone, lol) Lots of tasty items on menu to choosefrom. Most items good or priced similar to other local venues. I was with a group of 6 adults at dinner time on a Friday (?)Two of us ordered prime rib, different sized cuts. The rest all had different entrees. I noticed just prior to dinner entrees being doled out that rolls had been served .. but a basket of 4 set in middle of 6 people doesn't work. People don't remember ifthey get one or not and those that are supposed to don't. I had king-sized prime rib. I have not had prime rib in about 8mos. Itwas ok but it was bland, not will not ordering on future visits. It definitely did not live up to my expectations. I love steakof any kind, served almost any way. Well to Rare(preferable), but not mooing. The King portion???? was not much more than queenand mine was not served rare as I had requested. I understand this is not always possible but am usually told upon ordering. Noau jus served but horseradish was which was great. Baked potato was hard, luke warm and overcooked - tough way before outerskin. ???? Salad definitely needed to a do-over with a new bag being opened in the kitchen. But dressings were EXCELLENT! Iordered both ranch (????real homemade buttermilk ranch? Tasted like it!????) and Blue Cheese. The Blue cheese dressing seemeddefinitely homemade w lots of chunks of blue ???? cheese throughout nice creamy dressing.
