On trips to Brasil, the one food I ate more than any other is the incredible Amazon superfruit açai. Every time I saw a stand... selling it, I would stop for a cup, often blended with other native fruits such as acerola, producing a gloriously purpleconcoction with a flavor that defies description. Fresh açai does not survive long, which is why we almost never find itoutside of Brasil, and it does not apparently grow anywhere else. So what we get in the United States is almost always frozenand still delicious but far short of the flavor you get in the homeland. But we in Houston are pretty damn fortunate. A fewyears ago, my Brazilian friends shared with me an almost secret spot hidden way back in a warehouse up near IAH called AçaiBrasil (12230 W. Lake Houston Parkway), and I went and found a mostly Portuguese-speaking clientele and staff that served me anaçai smoothie that came closer to what I had in Brasil than any other I?ve had here. They have since relocated to a new andmuch easier to find location up in Himble-Fall Creek, and the same server as before is still putting out Houston?s best açaíand a small selection of Brazilian snacks. Acai Brasil has ROACHES! I visited Acai Brasil on 7/25/22 and ordered a Berry Ban smoothie bowl. I found a dead roach in the... smoothie bowl as soon as I stuck my spoon in. I will not eat here again. Read more
Love the choco lover with açaí. Overall I always have a great experience. The employees that work there are really nice and... courteous. Parking sometimes can be a headache but it?s worth it. I try to visit at least once a week. Read more
I wasn?t sure because I?ve never had an açaí before. However I was very delighted I took my daughter and husband and it was a... nice and filling treat for lunch definitely will be back!! First visit. Very good açai! I've been to other places where it was kinda sour. Not here! I got the Brazilian-style with... condensed milk, which made it a decadent treat but the açai alone had a perfect sweetness. Also tried the Brazilian streetfood. The beef was my favorite. Read more

The best açaí bowls I have ever had. I was spending a weekend in Houston and I am so thankful I got to go to this spot. It has... ruined açaí bowls for me because I haven?t been able to find a spot as good as this one in Miami. The fruits are always superfresh, the granola is just about perfect and not too filling.
