Had the salmon salad, yummy. My son's take out order wasn't what he ordered though, so he was chagrined to have a portobello... mushroom entre instead of poblano fajitas. We were the first customers Saturday, interrupting the employee powwow six minutesafter they opened. The service was attentive, so we the take home surprise was quite unexpected. BIG MISTAKE! My son just toldme he ordered an item from the Los Cucos menu and NOT an Escalante item, hence the miscommunication. His mistake came from hisfrequent meals at the other restaurant near his home. The social distancing is well done at this location. The servers were very friendly and prompt. The seafood enchiladas was my... order. It was decent. I've definitely had better. The menu offers many great items however. My real disappointment with therestaurant is that it lacked energy and vibe. Met for a mini-reunion at 5:30p on a Tuesday evening. Great ambiance; friendly greeters; good service. My hand pulled chicken... tamales plate was a pretty presentation, but it could have used more meat and seasonings. Wound up pouring a full salsa bowlover it to give it enough flavor. But, I did enjoy a bonus - between the tamales was an extra helping of hand pulled chicken! Iwas also impressed with Escalante's efforts to serve healthier food. The chips were not greasy and they serve no fat refriedbeans! There was a problem with the restrooms. One of the two toilets in the women's restroom was not working. For arestaurant of their size, it should have been noted and quickly repaired. The many women at our table waited for others to comeback before heading to the restroom so we wouldn't have to wait in a line at the restroom door. Read more
