We got two traditional Gyros to go. Overall place was very clean, organized, and fast! I ordered in person, only took 5 min to... have the food ready. Gyro meat tasted good. Sauces were different and delicious. It?s not my absolute favorite gyro in the area, but for convenience and easy I will be back! Read more

Abbreviated GML decided to stick to our roots and go GREEK. GYROVILLE on North Shepherd has recently opened. Unbelievably... friendly and helpful staff. Very willing to?shepherd? you through the menu options and freely offered tastes of the varioussauces. We ordered the GYRO MEAT PLATTER served with a warmed pita, Greek salad and rice pilaf. The meat was shaved off thespit and was flavorful. The jalapeños tzatziki, hummus and feta tzatziki were all delicious. We also ordered the traditionalGYRO PITA. It was loaded with Gyro meat shredded lettuce, chopped tomatoes, chopped onions, feta and tzatziki sauce. Like thePLATTER, the pita was only warmed (maybe in a microwave). Would have given 5 stars if the pitas had been toasted on the grillas pictured in the posters on the wall. Also, it would have been more authentic to have the onions in strings rather thanchopped. I am surmising that being so new, the wrinkles are being ironed out. Definitely plan to go again and am expecting a 5star experience next time!! Wishing you great success!! Read more

The food was okay. Not bad, but nothing special. The staff is really friendly. Ordered the mixed platter which comes with gyro,... chicken, either basmati rice or fries, salad, pita, hummus and choice of sauce. I asked for spicy chicken, basmati rice, fetatzatziki. I upgraded to a combo that added falafel and a drink. The spicy chicken was good. So was the salad, sauce and pita. The falafel came with more than I expected and it was the best thing I got. The gyro meat and basmati rice was bland. I wouldsuggest sticking with the chicken. Overall not bad. Just too many options. Read more

Great new Mediterranean food place in the heights. The service could be better. When we arrived we were not greeted for at... least 2-3 minutes while standing at the ordering counter. When they brought our food to the table, they just set it downwithout telling us which order it was (we had 5 people). The gyro pitas tasted great. They are pretty big in size. Keep itwrapped in the foil for less mess. The fries were also pretty good. Plenty of parking available. Read more

Was received with a warm welcome. More importantly the food hit on all levels, the simplicity that took me back to buying street... gyros in Athens, and the sophistication of fresh and flavorful Mediterranean dining. The lamb was season perfectly, the greenswere crisp and fresh, they offered a plethora of tzatziki sauce options that allowed my pallet to experience all levels ofadventure. I will be back to Gyroville. Read more

Convenient location near a major thoroughfare in the Heights with plenty of parking and great food! The food varies from a build... it yourself gyro to a variety of designated recipes. The gyro meat was thin sliced and crispy, full of that flavor and spice weall want in a gyro! The veggies were crisp and fresh with enough variety (lettuce, spinach, spring mix) to balance out the meatand carbs. Service was also excellent and very attentive which was much appreciated in this fast casual environment. If you pickup, cater, or dine in you won't be disappointed with Gyroville! Read more

Went for their soft opening today where they were offering free meals. The owners are really nice and there are plenty of tables... to dine in inside. Food: Gyro platter - Generous portions that come w/ french fries or basmati rice, salad, pita, andhummus. Spicy chicken platter - Opted for french fries and had all the fixings listed above. Chicken wasn?t very spicy at alland I personally wished the chicken was seasoned more. Fries tasted good and salad is your typical Greek salad. Bottom line:Not the most authentic Middle Eastern food you can get, especially in Houston, but I can see how the establishment could be aneasy midweek dinner option. Prices are reasonable for the Heights and portion size is good. Parking: There is a private lotthat is shared with a yoga studio so can become crowded at times. There are potential parking spots that can be found in theneighborhood behind the building. Read more
