Reviews for Hamsa in Houston, TX
After a long wait of excitement… We were looking forward for this lovely evening. I come from a Mediterranean background and... was looking forward for the opening of this new spot. The ambiance is extremely well designed. I loved the outdoor decor, inside decor the bar the oven the dishes omg the dishes are so cute. But with all fairness the food was not as much as weexpected. We could not even eat some of the dishes a they were not up to taste. The appetizers are extremely small. The maincourses especially the eggplant was not cooked correctly. I would say the best one that caught our attention was the chickenshish kebab and that also the portion was so little but it is worth the taste. It could be because it was the opening, theyeven had a shortage on the to go boxes and had to wrap our food in aluminum foil. Service was good, front desk hostess wasextremely pleasant and very passionate about her job. Cannot say that with our waiter. My cocktail was extremely cute anddelicious. Parking was weird we could not find the valet but when leaving we saw it. Big tables good for large groups. WouldI go back? Only for the shish kebab. :) Read more

New favorite spot in Houston! The restaurant doesn’t feel like yet another eatery, it’s so inviting and homely, yet with an... upscale twist. The food is absolutely amazing (no pictures because we just couldn’t wait long enough to take them beforedigging in). The cocktails are delicious and the bartenders definitely know what they’re doing! Go check this place out if youlove great food, beautiful decor, and tasty cocktails!! ?????? Read more

Stunning new restaurant tucked away in Rice Village! It's a very inviting atmosphere with an approachable menu. The staff is... very helpful, too. I love how they have complimentary valet parking so you don't have to worry about finding a spot. Thedelicious pita is cooked fresh in this oven. My favorite dish was the lamb ribs, but I also liked how they had a wide variety ofvegetable dishes. The fennel was very delicious. This is definitely a true dining experience and will make for a really greatspot to hang out with friends. I already can't wait to go back! Read more
Went to preview of Hamsa in Rice Village (Houston). Modern Israeli food from the owners of Doris Metropolitan. Fresh hummus,... sauces, pita, seafood, and veggies. A beautiful space with a lavish bar, wine room, and open kitchen. Standouts include thecrispy potatoes, deconstructed chicken schwarma, branzino, and the dark chocolate halva for dessert (must have!). Crowds shouldswarm here when it opens to the public on May 11. I went here today for lunch. Hamsa has the best hummus I think I have ever had. The traditional hummus, if you can call it that,... is served with a pickled egg, chickpeas, and diced peppers. I think the olive oil served with the hummus is some of the best andmost flavorful I’ve had. I had, for my entrée, what is basically a lamb pizza with a dollop of hummus on the side. It wasexceptional. My friend had the meat kebab which was also amazing. I can’t wait to go back for dinner and to try some of theother items on the menu. Read more
