It?s been years since we ate here, so it?s time to give it at try again (we?ve been going to Iwa Ya instead). It?s the same... concept. Review the picture menu and write the number of orders with a pencil and turn into the cashier and pay. There?s a soupstation (self serve), usually miso soup and warm bean soup (dessert). My boys ordered spicy tuna, tuna/salmon, Texas and dragonrolls. This is what they typically order at Iwa Ya, and they?re very happy with Hokkaido. Read more

Been coming to this location for many years with family and friends and always have a great time. Serve your own soups (miso,... bean, etc.) & serve your own water/tea. It can get kinda busy during rush times so I recommend to come a bit earlier. Morerelaxed atmosphere when coming at the right time. I find this place has some of the best prices for sushi in Houston, so whenI?m craving for quick sushi without having to spend too much and not looking 5 star type, we usually come here. The menu isextensive and also has other appetizers and meals, I also enjoy the tonkatsu. Highly recommend Read more

Very good food! Total cost was about $18.00! I got the chirashi and two pieces of squid nigiri. Overall, I think that this place... has great quality sushi for the price. The chirashi bowl itself was about $14 dollars. Most chirashi bowls tend to run around$20, so this was great value for me. I will admit that the raw fish did feel somewhat small though and some of it was diced, soit was a bit more difficult to get a good bite. I also did think it took a while to make. I had several friends who orderedafter me get their meals first, which was a bit disappointing. The squid nagiri was great though and came in a nice, chunkyslice. It tasted very fresh and I really enjoyed it. There is a miso soup pot that is complementary and you can go and getyourself a bowl as well as steamed rice or water which adds to the value of the meal. Just make sure to come early! The seatingis first come first serve. You also have to order food at the counter, which sometimes has a long line, so be prepared. Read more
