I?ve had this spot saved as a ?want to go? forever! It was even better than the name and reputation prepare you for too. I had... the vegan meatball sandwich with chips and kale salad and my daughter had the seafood sandwich. Both were amazing! The veganmeatball was their own creation that was tasty and toothy like a beefy meatball would be. The seafood was fresh tasting, saltyand stuffed with seafood. Friday lunchtime. Good-to-great lunch food. My go-to sandwich is the Gulf Seafood sandwich - shrimp and crab meat. I tried the... chicken soup today and it was good. Local Foods is a staple Houston restaurant. They are excellent at what they do! There are many locations but the one in the... Heights is our favorite. The menu is the perfect size to where there is a multitude of options but quality isn?t sacrificed. Thecrunchy chicken sandwich on the pretzel bun is my favorite item with the banh mi close by in second place. The fresh fruit,chips, and potato salad are all great sides. I definitely recommend local foods to anyone in Houston. Read more

Great location with fantastic food. I am a frequent flyer at the Rice Village location and this location doesn't disappoint... either. Beautiful building in the Heights. The Hispanic guy working the cashier was extremely friendly. Food is great and theambiance is lively. I came today for takeout. Got my usual: crunchy chicken sandwich with chips and the seasonal fruit(watermelon all summer long!). I also picked up the vegan meatball sub with the pozole for my girlfriend. She's currently sickso the cup of green pozole was the perfect antidote on this weekend afternoon. My only complaint is that the watermelon wasreally skimpy today! Only two small pieces where I've definitely had a bigger portion (twice the size at least) when eating in.Otherwise, a great time. Will definitely be back! Read more

Reliably great food. Been coming to Local Foods/Benjys when they were originally in the Rice Village before they were spread out... with multiple locations. Somehow they manage to keep the quality of food in check. Always try to get my fix in at least once amonth. Read more
