We were here for dinner yesterday. The place is clean, staff is friendly and accommodating. The prices are very moderate as... well. We ordered Kare-Kare, Sinigang (baka) and Lechon Kawali and we didn?t have to wait too long for it. The cook was verygenerous with the meats, which was amazing. I am having an extracaganza galore of hopping from one Restaurant to another here at Max?s Chicken Houston! The old time Fried... Chicken of the Family is coming home to Dallas, Texas! I am definitely taking two to go! There maybe so many Chicken placeseverywhere but Max?s Chicken is matchless to me, I am speaking for myself and not for everyone. First eating at Max since it opened in Houston. I?ve been to one in the Philippines but was not impressed by the food. I came... here with my friend and her husband. I ordered the binagoongan fried rice, lechon kawali sisig and calamansi juice. She orderedthe crab fried rice, half max chicken, pancit canton and buko juice. The binagoongan fried rice needs more bagoong and season.It was very bland. The Lechon kawali sisig had too much soy sauce. The calamansi juice was too sweet for me. I asked for anotherglass of ice and poured it there and added more water. The crab fried rice needs more seasoning. The max chicken is good if youeat it with ketchup, otherwise, it?s very bland. True to filipino taste. Sobrang masarap! Great location since it?s nearby a lot more filipino areas. A little on the pricey side... but large portion sizes. My favorite out of everything we had ordered was the crispy pata, it was so crunchy and so soft at thesame time, definitely recommend. Servers are always very nice and attentive. Read more

Super excited to visit this restaurant. They recently opened their doors in Houston so I know I have to try it when I?m in town.... This place was super busy at 3pm on a Sunday afternoon. We got fried chicken, lechon kawali, halo halo, pork skewers and laing.I enjoyed the chicken the most! It was flavorful inside and out and it wasn?t dry at all. It reminds me of my childhood memoryof eating a Max?s with my family in Manila. Our wait staff JR was amazing he was very attentive to our needs. Despite therestaurant?s traffic, these wait staffs manage to do some singing for people celebrating their birthdays at the restaurant. Whata great touch! We stopped here for lunch to see how similar this location is to their Philippines locations. While obviously not the same, it... was still a good experience with yummy food for lunch! Their whole fried chicken is definitely a good deal besides beingtasty. We noticed they have a lot of take-out orders besides being busy with dine-in so they are popular. Food is great. I always love the taro leaf dish - it was pretty large too (family style) I am glad they have a tofu dish, even... though it was kinda small and very basic. The dessert was delicious. Many people got the Halo Halo, and that looked goodtoo. The service was slow though, seems like our server is way too busy or forgetful, maybe a little bit of both. It's alittle on the pricey side.
