Tried Miss Patty's for the first time today. I ordered the catfish Opelousas, it was terrific! My buddy ordered the meatloaf... plate. Both were great. I tried a bite of the meatloaf, it was great but didn't have any sauce on it. I'm used to havingmeatloaf with a sauce on it, I thought that it would have set that plate off, it was very moist with great flavor though. I'llbe back next time in town! Read more

In from Cali looking for a quick soul food spot. I ordered the catfish lunch special with macaroni and cheese and greens. I hate... to give a negative review on a BOB however, there was minimal flavor on anything. The mac/cheese was very disappointing andseemed from a box. No seasoning at all. Greens were over salted. There seems to be no garlic or onion powder in anything.Growing up on southern soul food I know there is a way to make the food taste great without all the salt. As a soul foodestablishment you have to know your customer base will be looking for complex flavors. I?ll skip Miss Patty?s on my next Houstonvacation. Read more

I ordered two plates: Fried ribs with cabbage and red beans. Smothered chicken with Mac and cheese and dirty rice. The best... item out of both plates was the fried rib. The sides were edible, but nothing to brag about nor are they worth going back for. Could have used a bit more complex seasonings, tasted more like just salt and pepper. The establishment itself is nice; I wenton a Sunday afternoon, and they were playing the old school gospel greats: Sam Cooke, Ann Nesby, and Mississippi MassChoir. For these two plates, the order took about thirty minutes; the music selection helped me overlook the time for the twoTogo orders. I won't go back, but it did satisfy a hunger craving. Blessings over their continued success. One lady said theyhad been there two years... keep it up. Read more

It was mid?Their staff is overly Confident (see picture) but ummm maybe season the food and don?t slice a filet in 1/2 and call... it 2 pieces. My son said his food was good but his sandwich was chicken and lettuce mainly, small tomato and pickles (he didn?teven taste one until he was almost finished) Also, they have a fountain machine but only serve ?their? drinks which are lemonadeand tea. The pricing was decent for HOUSTON, not what expected for soul food portions, I wouldn?t return. Read more

My experience was Great here. I don't know what the Bad reviews are about and why some people throwing hate towards this... beautiful restaurant but this place is Excellent!! Some people like they food extra salty and some like there food with no saltbut this restaurant had a perfect blend of spices and flavor. Just look at my plates. I mean just elegant how they put themtogether in a soulful way. I felt the love in my catfish dish and so did my girlfriend. The lemon pepper wings were differentbut delicious. And the oxtails were meaty unlike some spots I know of. The restaurant gave me Positive Vibes and the place wasvery clean. I was treated really nice and I'll be back. My review is what I experienced and im giving this place 5 stars and Idon't care who says other wise. Read more

I wanted so bad to like this restaurant, but I was extremely disappointed. Upon entering the restaurant, the acknowledgment that... I received was very sharp and non-chalant, so I didn?t feel welcomed from the beginning. During the ordering process, I feltrushed. After ordering, I waited 37 minutes. I then decided to order a Catfish Basket with Garlic Parmesan Fries because I wastold a fillet of fish couldn?t be added to any of the orders. The employee asked me if I was done ordering (seemingly annoyed). The whole time I was there, there were no other customers that came in. I?m assuming that they were preparing orders forDoorDash because a dasher came in and was still there when I left. I?ve been to COUNTLESS Soul Food Restaurants and ordereddishes that were made to order, with the addition of them having lines out the door and have NEVER waited almost an hour. TheFood: I ordered the Pork Chop plate with 2 sides, a veggie plate, a fish basket, a slice of pound cake, peach cobbler, and aPatty Palmer. The catfish was just OK. I paid to upgrade my fries to garlic Parmesan fries. I couldn?t even eat them becausethey tasted like they were dropped back in the grease after sitting there for hours. Completely inedible. All of the sides wereedible. However the pork chops were so dry and flavorless so I was forced to throw them away. The best things about the mealwere the desserts and drink. HOWEVER, after finishing my drink, I discovered a plastic wrapper in the bottom of my cup ????.Things happen, but this was completely irresponsible and careless. There are too many soul food restaurants not only in thearea but in Houston for customer experiences to be this bad. Read more
