Didn't seem like much from the outside and drove past the place a few times... but alas a local Houstonian friend of ours... reccommended the place... Not only were we blown away by the interior.. the food was gourmet! Much more quality than what wewere expecting for "pub" food. Had the Pan Seared Chicken Breast and Scallops. Came back the next week to try the Filet Mignonand Pork Shank. The owner keeps the windows covered from the inside, so after a while we completely forgot we were sitting inHouston and it really felt like we were in a part of the British isles... deff recommend this place for anyone that enjoysquality culinary and deff gonna be back with the family for the holidays! It?s been a while since I visited this place but I can definitely remember the great experience u had here. The shepherds pie is... phenomenal and tasty, and their wine selection is on point as well. A very cozy place and overall different experience from yourtypical bar/pub in Houston. Read more

Had an awesome Sunday dinner at the Red Lion with my family! The place was quite busy but no wait, so that was a plus since... you can?t make reservations. (Just fyi) The papadams were more than basic for the cost but still tasty. My roast dinner wasamazing! Very large portions! & the sticky toffee was great as well! It is defiantly a bit on the pricey side but thequality of food was defiantly up there! Can?t wait to return! Read more

This place is awesome. I've been to Great Britain often and this pub could have been transplanted here from across the... Atlantic. Delicious food, great service, and a fine selections of draft beers, ciders, wines and liquor await youhere. Samosas were huge, the fish & chips were the best I've had outside of the UK, and the shepherd's pie wasmagnificent. Come find out for yourself. Read more

My youngest grew up for 3 years in the UK. (To this day I still make her Marmite toast). She recently had some bangers and mash... on vacation and was wanting to have some while at home. We visited Red Lion Pub to try and see if it was as good for her as itwas in the UK. She was not disappointed. I ordered Sheppards Pie. It was also fab! The decor really reminded us of living inthe UK. The price is a little on the steep side but we?ll worth the price if you have a hankerin for some British food!!!! Read more

Looking for a place to eat and drink that has an atmosphere different from the typical pub? If you like things that are unique... and enjoy a place with a European flair, then you might want to consider a visit to the Red Lion British Pub. Walking into RedLion for the first time, you will be greeted by an interior with a good deal of wood and, not surprisingly, the color red. Theatmosphere has a distinctly European vibe, like one would expect for this type of pub. The fireplace adds a home- like ambianceas well. And the pictures on the walls, the lighting, etc. make you feel like you?re in friendly confines. With the food, RedLion has a larger menu than that of the typical pub and it goes above and beyond the usual pub fare. You will find the commonfood options like burgers, wings, and quesadilla. But there is much more, including filet mignon, chicken masala, pork shank, pan seared cod, and more. Be prepared, however, for a slight case of sticker shock. The food and drink prices are higher herethan what you find at most pubs. The quality is good, yes, but you pay the price. The beer selection at Red Lion is quite good. You will find about twenty beers on tap and another twenty in bottles. And there are many European options to be found among thebeers, like Fuller?s, Newcastle, Belhaven, and others. If you would rather drink something else, don?t worry. They serve a largeselection of Scotch whiskey and wine and with the full bar, they can mix up whatever drink you like. Specialty pubs are oftenmemorable and Red Lion British Pub is certainly a memorable place to dine and drink. It is pricey, yes, but the food, service, and ability to find multiple European beers and Scotches in a single place make it worthwhile. Read more

Let me start by saying Angel is literally an Angel and Juan, the kitchen Manager is THE ABSOLUTE SWEETEST! We decided to have... our very small & intimate wedding there and everything went perfectly!! The food was better than I remembered. The service wasoutstanding and the ambiance was perfect. My now husband and family were surprised when I decided to pick this establishment forthe wedding, but there were no regrets whats so ever. The weather was PERFECT for patio seating and even with small kids, theywere able to just run around a little and enjoy themselves. I wish I got pics of the food but I was gone too fast. I wouldrecommend Red Lion to everyone who wants good food with an amazing experience, regardless of the occasion!! I can't wait to goback again!! Read more
