This is a hole in the wall dive bar but their kitchen is the true jem! The kitchen staff is always friendly as well as the bar... staff. They always have different specials. My personal favorites are the shrimp po boy and the loaded baked potatoes as well astheir hotdogs! On the bar side they have a great happy hour and different themes and events. The food is excellent and it's not just hotdogs...large menu...chicken fried steak, daily specials like meatoaf...the chili is... delicious...relaxed friendly atmosphere to watch a game, visit with friends or play pool or shuffleboard while listening to thejukebox. Love this place Read more

I'd give 3.5 stars if I could. My 11-year-old son enjoyed his hot dog here, said it tasted like Wienerschnitzel, the fast food... chain. That's about right; it's hard to find a good hot dog in Houston. $18.57 for two foot long dogs and two sodas, so prettycheap. Also keep in mind that smoking is allowed here; this might be a good thing if you smoke, but bad for me, though itreminded me of my old bar-hopping days. Read more
Friendly and courteous service. I ordered grilled fish green beans and corn to-go (corn not pictured as I ate them prior to... taking the photo). Everything was fresh and lightly seasoned that is not overbearing. Extra condiments were included to enhancethe flavor. I can see making another visit to this place. Read more
For a name like Hot Dog Shop I kinda would?ve thought they would have better hot dogs. I?ve only been here once and it has an... old Texas feel to its interior. The service was very good but the food was only ok. Read more
This is place makes great food. I frequent the place for my breakfast burrito that is really a good size and tasty! Hamburgers... too are delicious here. Only negative item here is the smell of cigarettes smoke from the bar that they have. Read more
So it's connected to a bar. A bar where SMOKING IS ALLOWED INSIDE. I wish I would have read the low star reviews before stopping... here. When you are on the road and don't have time to read reviews, I rely on the amount of stars, in this case a total letdown. Needless to say I sent my family back to the car and ordered to go. Service was fine. Atmosphere awful, unless you likesmelling cigarette smoke while you eat. Hotdogs...only 1out 4 actually ate their entire hotdog. It was rubbery. The chillicheese on the dog was okay. The french fries were okay. Maybe they should change the name? Read more
