Boy am I torn on this review. I had to divide my ratings, but at the end of the day it?s a restaurant and the food... matters. Ambience: 5 stars. It has a speakeasy vibe. The restaurant is located on the back side of the main buildings on GrandRiver Ave. Parking is easy and there is a big 2FOGs mural to assist in finding the restaurant. Don?t trust google maps, it?s alittle off. Located in the basement of many older buildings, the bar and dining area are all brick with a industrialfeel. Drinks and appetizers: again 5 stars. Wow! What a drink menu, there is everything here. There is a drink here foreveryone from the bourbon, wine, and scotch connoisseur to the casual beer and cocktails drinker. All the appetizers soundeddelicious, we decided on the brochette. It was fresh and filled with all the right flavors. Highly recommend it. Even my wife,who is not fond of tomatos, enjoyed it. Dinner: There are entrees for every palette preference. After much discussion wedecided on the Griller Salmon and Honey Citrus Shrimp & Sirloin?.this is where we were let down. When the dinner came outeverything was lukewarm or room temperature. The sweet potato fries were room temp, the cheese on the loaded mash potatoeswasn?t even melted, the shrimp was cold, and the sirloin (order medium) was extra rare, and the salmon was lukewarm as if it hadbeen sitting for 10+ mins. To her credit, our server took the sirloin back to be re cooked. I don?t thinks it?s much to expecthot food, especially from a restaurant rated as high as 2FOGS. Absolutely the worst experience. After more than 30 minute wait they brought water in a plastic cup, no ice. Terrible service... less than mediocre food and drinks, if that wasn?t enough a long black hair was found in a hamburger which our guest had almostfinished ???? she complained they gave her a cup of soup in a 90 degree weather day, ok nice gesture? Then they brought anotherhamburger? would you think that was as complementary plate? No, they charged us for it! we also ordered salmon with basmati rice/ broccoli ( picture below ) salmon was overdone, rice and broccoli were cold! awful presentation. We got I?m sorry! Celebrated our daughters graduation here at one of our all time favorites in Howell? 2 Fogs. We requested a reservation in their... VIP room and what an incredible experience we received. I love alley adventures. What a delightful way to enter. Sets the tone for knowing this is something more special and not the... run of the mill. There's no doubting the theme here with the mural outside and feeling like you're sneaking in somewhere. Wejust had drinks but the food did look interesting. The basement area is bigger than expected. The side room has curtained offspaces for larger groups and a private secluded area to dine & talk about gangster stuff I guess (ha ha). I think it's a perfectplace to step into a different world and feel transported for a moment of relaxation and fun. Service was great too. Read more
First time at this cozy little place. The food was excellent as well as our server. We enjoyed the big time band era music that... played in the backround and how it complimented with the "speak easy" theme inside the restaurant. To get Inside this hidden gemyou have to entered from the back ally and go down steps to a back door. I felt like I stepped back in time for a few moments.Very pleasant & enjoyable place for those looking for a romantic or special occasion meal too. Read more
Best burger in town! This was our second time back and we are still blown away. This place has amazing food and service. The... manager was our waiter and he did a phenomenal job! He even brought some extra fries since my daughter and I were sharing aplate. Read more
Our usual spot in town wasn't open so we went here, having not visited in probably a year. We had a great server, service and a... meal. The menu was completely new from what we remembered and we enjoyed everything we had. It may have bumped the usual placedown a notch. Read more
