Had an opportunity to stop by this new location of Dave?s. Employees where nice and inviting and offered different options that... made our experience great and saved us money in the end. Chicken was good and we had the ?hot? and it had good flavor, the slawwas good also, fries were crunchy on the outside and soft in the middle. The tables were clean or organized. How can you not feel good when walking in Dave's Hot Chicken!? The bright vibrant colors, the lively music and the smiling... faces. The service was above what you'll expect at a fast food place. The guy at the counter was very helpful and after sittingin the dining area w my food, the manager came to check on me. The fries and seasoning on the fries were great, especially withDave's special dipping sauce. The chicken slider was good consistency w the flavourful kale slaw, but the flavor of the chickenseasoning or amount I would change. Drove by and decided to give it a shot, I got the single slider? This is not a slider but a full-size sandwich, chicken breast... was thick, juicy, super crispy and well coated with sauce. Slaw on the sandwich had a great tang, the pickles had a welcome hitof acid, and the daves sauce cooled the spice. I thought it was cute that I had to sign a waiver for the reaper spice level, Iam a extreme chili head and I found the reaper just about perfect, a 7/10 on the spiciness scale if you are a seasoned spiceeater. Edit: Updating the review to five stars since the restaurant took initiative to get in touch with me, and make it right. I think... we all can appreciate this kind of service which seems to be a rare find in 2022. Kudos! Went here for the first timeyesterday. Got two #2 combos. One for now, one for later. My mistake for not checking both boxes while being present at therestaurant, because the chicken pieces inside my sliders in the bottom box, were shriveled and shrunken compared to the other.This is unacceptable and I wish I had seen it at the restaurant to talk to the staff about it. But the point is I shouldn?thave to, and should be able to trust the establishment for consistency in their product, especially when it?s soexpensive. Another issue I had was with the staff behind the counter ringing me out, who was frustrated with the POS system andlikely her own lack of understanding of it. She made me feel like it was my fault throughout the transaction by deflecting herfrustration, even though this wasn?t don?t directly with words. Thankfully. As far as the food was concerned and the one comboI had sitting there, it was GREAT. Hot and fresh, on both the chicken and the fries like I requested. Flavorful chicken. Stopped by to give her a shot today. Thai wife got the extra hot and I got normal hot. The sliders are full sized sandwiches not... slider sized. It's really good food. Fries are fantastic. Chicken was a perfect nashville style hot chicken. ???? ???? ????. Word to the wise they do not cone with drinks so make sure to remember to order one. Read more
If I could give it 4.5 stars I would. The chicken was juicy, loved the breading. I enjoyed the medium spice and the kick it had,... but I'm willing to try one level hotter. The fries were fresh and seasoned well, I subbed for cheese fries which were good. Notsure if the sauce that comes with it is intended for the fries or the chicken but regardless it is very tasty and it's a littlesweet. Service was great on their grand opening day. I think for the price, a small soft drink should be included with theoption to pay for a bigger drink. I'll definitely be back because I love this type of food and it tasted excellent, but I won'tbe back as often as I wish because of the prices. While I don't have a family, I do still wish this was more affordable for afamily to eat at. I think a reward system would draw me in! Read more
I tried Dave's Hot Chicken for the very first time today after anxiously waiting for them to open. Overall I would give it a 4/5... stars as we did enjoy the food and experience. The chicken was well seasoned and perfectly cooked, the fries were a tad soggybut seasoned well. The customer service was great, no complaints there. Honestly the only drawback keeping it from a 5 starreview was the pricing. At $38 for two adults to dine here was a bit much. I would say that if they reduced the pricing to say$12 for the meal and include a beverage would be far more well received. This is not LA and prices that they have are expectedfrom a finer sit down restaurant rather than a fast food service. Personally if I were to spend $40 on a meal I would be goingto a place like Clearys or Texas Roadhouse. All in all I genuinely recommend at least trying Dave's however it will not be aplace I frequent. The cost is just too steep for this type of dining. After sitting in the dining area for almost an hour Iheard the same complaints from many fellow customers. First time at Dave's Hot Chicken in Howell, The food was excellent! I had the extra hot Slider added cheese "costs extra" like... .69 cents I believe? and tender with fries. And a side of yummy Mac and cheese. Plus a small drink. The portion was pretty bigI'm way full regretting that I ate all of it ???? but it was so yummy ???? Free refills on the fountain pop if you're dinningin. Make sure you grab enough napkins lol !!! I'll be back for sure! ! It is a little pricey $$ but definitely good!! Read more
