Ambience was great. Everything was so aesthetically pleasing about the venue. The mock tails were delicious and well thought... out. The ribeye I got was delicious. I enjoyed the soup but it wasn?t the best. The duck was tender but the flavors weren?tthere. I would recommend this place for a drink or a snack but not really dinner. Read more

The singular draw for The Maker is the aesthetic. The service is remarkably poor, and the food is unremarkable and overpriced.... In short, The Maker is a tourist trap. My recommendation is to go for a cocktail to enjoy the ambiance and interior design, andinvest your time/energy/dollars at another great restaurant nearby. (Strongly recommend Feast & Floret in Hudson, or if you?reup for a drive go to Stissing House in Pine Plains or Silvia in Woodstock.) We had been visiting from Toronto and were drawn tothe look and branding of The Maker but were so disappointed by the customer service and quality of food. The wine prices areextremely inflated; to illustrate, the same bottle/vintage that we ordered at The Maker for $130 was available at Stissing Housefor $80. As we chatted with locals throughout our stay, we learned that Hudson locals and Hudson familiars know that The Makerhas made a reputation for its consistently poor service. I don?t typically write restaurant reviews, but hope this descriptionhelps guide visitors planning their trips to get the most out of a beautiful town and region that has plenty of greatalternative options for dining. Two stars because we liked the ambiance. Read more

Only came for drinks, which were excellent. The bartender went off menu and made me a Ti Punch that was also delightful.... Ambience is unparalleled in the solarium, particularly at dusk, and would definitely return! Read more

We took our friends from NYC to enjoy dinner in the Hudson Valley. They were impressed with the back bar but even more so by the... romantic and eclectic design of the dining rooms. We were able to dine in the conservatory and watch the night progress fromlight to dark. All the cocktails (especially the bourbon over crushed ice with chili and lemon if I remember correctly) andappetizers were creative and tasty and two of us thoroughly enjoyed the beet salad with cheese. As before, the steelhead troutwas prepared perfectly with just enough crispness and this time I had the rib eye prepared rare (and juicy) as requested. Ourwaitress was charming, friendly and attentive and the sommelier was helpful in our choice of a reasonably priced bottle of redwine. All in all a wonderful summer dinner and evening again at The Maker. Read more

A fabulous experience at The Maker Restaurant. We had expertly crafted cocktails in the beautiful bar and then a private dinner... table in the library. Every member of the staff was just a pleasure...welcoming, helpful and friendly. There were six of us atdinner and all our meals were simply outstanding, fresh and delicious. Plus we all found the portions to be 100% perfectlysized. A great dinner and we will definitely be back! Read more

Last night (6/24/2022)we celebrated a friend?s birthday with cocktails and dinner at the The Maker. The setting is lovely & sets... the tone for an elegant evening. Next, Tommy (the Manager), Charlotte (our bartender) and Coulter (our waiter) could not havebeen more accommodating & friendly. And finally but not least of all, everyone?s food was delicious! Overall, we had a greatevening at The Maker! Highly recommended! Read more

My boyfriend and I came here last night because not much was open and we were starving. We have been here before and enjoyed our... dinner last time but was very overpriced for the portion. This time the menu was so minimal and higher prices. I had a veggieburger but it was very greasy and they gave me an expired beer and again when I asked for a new one expired as well. As for myboyfriend he has a $28 pesto pasta and it was such a small portion (cereal bowl size) and that was our dinner? unimpressed andpaid $58 plus tip for just two ?entrees?. Very upset and when when we got home where still hungry. Only giving two stars becausethe waitress wasn?t at fault. I love the place but not the food. Nice ambiance though. Read more

Nice place for brunch. Bloody Mary was average. Expected more from a fine establishment. What stood out was the mushroom... ricotta toast. Wifey really enjoyed the burger. Also enjoyed a great latte in the Cafe. Read more
